Role Play Challenge, The Next generation: Yes we Can!

Actually (being British, and thus blissfully unaware of what the average American thinks) I assumed that the average American doesn't give a . .. .. .. . about religions (or atleast enough of a . .. .. .. . to hate people because of religious differences), but it's only the racist people who the media focus on.

Also, since Obama doesn't appear to hate muslims, I see no reason why the RPC version of him should either.

Exactly what I was thinking.

The Average American is pretty Tolerant of different Christian although not always (Romney probably lost the Republican nomination for president because he is a mormon), moderately tolerant of the jewish religion but this is regional, Intolerant of the Muslim faith (because of the past 20 years), indifferent/undeucated about the others (the Buddha as god thing), and hateful of Atheists (More Americans would prefer a mixed racial marraige for a child than to Marry an Atheist according to several polls).

With all that said, Americans were certainly willing to overlook Obama's religious inclinations (Muslim father/step-father and questionably racist current minister) for the possibility of fixing the major financial problem of the economy. When push comes to shove the average American favors his/her money over trivial things like religion or ethics (I am not the average American mind you).

Regarding the Messiah himself Obama, he is willing to adopt any religion(s) that help his favorability rating amonst the other leader ;)

I played the first segment, ready to post it!

Yes We Can: The Founding of America!

Barak Hussein Obama ponders all the advice from his many advisors deciding how best to take care of the American people (and take care of his steller reputation!).

We start by moving the warrior south a bit onto the hill

ObamaA0000.jpg

Not a bad cottage city down there, perhaps there is a little more food to ice it!

Obama realizes everyone is hanging on his momental decision

"And now a word from our sponsor..."

Wait, wait a damned minute. Someone is screwing with the telepromptor.

I have decided, after many meetings and careful reflection that we need CHANGE! Yes, we need to CHANGE where we are to a better place. We shall move

ObamaA0001.jpg

Obama get's an enormous amount of applause for such a wise and great decision, truely the American people need his great Judgement. He high-fives his closest friends, kisses the wife and kids, and heads out for a few brews and a smoke followed by some hoops and a game of bowling or two.

While our president is off enjoying a few earned comforts after such hard work, let's look at what we did this segment

we got only 2 goody huts but they totaled 369 gold, not very bad campaign donations!

Techpath went pretty standard: Mining/BW/AH/wheel/Pottery/writing. When you see the map you will understand why I delayed hunting archery a bit.

The build order went: Workboat, worker, 5 warriors, settler, start a second settler.

Now that the president has finished refreshing himself, he finds a new neighbor

ObamaA0002.jpg

Obama Immediately starts a long speech apologizing for past bad deeds that America has done until another broken telepromptor gives his aids some time to inform him that America has not done anything wrong (yet!). Catherine leaves a little coolly, oh boy!

While Obama was talking to the Russian Lass which in a way reminds him of his mother (in looks people, not the Virgin Queen thing), a warrior has scoped out the land

ObamaA0004.jpg

Looking like we can get a few good cities, as well as a chance to block out Catherine who lurks to our west!

we soon meet

ObamaA0005.jpg

And

ObamaA0006.jpg

And

ObamaA0007.jpg

So Obama sets his advisors to work on how to befriend these leaders and improve his worldwide image.

Justinian: Buddhism/Theocracy
Catherine: HR civic
Hammurabi: Bureacracy
DeGaulle: Nationhood

OK, gonna be tough to befriend both the babylonians and French!

But still, a great personality like Obama still needs an army to back himself up, Can we build up an army

ObamaA0008.jpg

YES WE CAN!

We manage to start exploring the south and find a rather unexpected surprise

ObamaA0009.jpg

Justinian is a little closer than we thought and could settle above that jungle pretty fast.

Nevertheless we were committed to our first settler's destination

ObamaA0010.jpg

Gotta block off that REX-crazed Russian Woman before anything else!

Obama finished researching writing, and saved.

But what to research next

ObamaA0011.jpg

I am thinking about hunting/archery as that will be faster than settling and popping borders for Horses or copper.

we also have to decide where to settle next. I think very agressive REXing to the SE with the next settlers, delaying the copper and horse for a little bit. Maybe a little risky for our Analytical leader so I will ask for advice here.

Our capital

ObamaA0012.jpg

Certainly looks like a production/early GP farm, so I will farm the floodplains. Future cities along the rivers will definitely be caootage material.

And givien the Immediate neighbors, Obama informs the Cia to redirect eps

ObamaA0013.jpg

SO how has our first segment gone for our Green President?

Damn that's a ton of good land. I'd REX next round(buld maybe 3 or 4 settlers one after the other) whilst running one(or two?? might make building settlers too slow) scientist.

Ha! Marble! CHEESE! was right all along. Bow down to me.

Turn your slider off for now, and put your 1 BPT on alphabet or aesthetics. Keep expanding. And if you can get alphabet quickly and nobody still has it later, get that, otherwise go aesthetics and trade for it (monarch AIs are slow so you'll prolly go alpha).

Why do you want archers? Warriors are perfectly fine here. Diverting beakers as such might hurt obama's popularity.

Edit: Settle SE aggressively. Use the unit 2 tile to spawnbust in between and you shouldn't see many land barbs.

Although I never said anything about that potential resources, I sincerely apologize for the American people.

I'd say this is a rex like crazy start. You can get a good 7 or 8 cities, not counting any islands around you if you push hard. Should be enough to keep peace.

Oh, and in RPC spirits, how could Obama not run State Property and Bureaucracy :P

Nice area. You need to quickly block of the SE, and also quickly claim the floodplain+copper location.

I basically need three settlers with escourts real fast. That's an IMP leader to my SE.

Screw the escorts as long as you got enough visuals :P

And concentrate on blocking the SE, the copper city can wait. Only reason you need to get that up quickly is because its a nice location.

Escorts are a poor alternative to spawn bust.

Escorts might lose to barbs = lose the settler. Spawn bust = losing the defender retains the settler, but also that there won't be a barb by the time your settler gets there.

Unless you're playing this at deity warriors will suffice to completely own the barbs ;).

OK, I am going to try things here I have not done before based on some good advice. After all this is about CHANGE!!! I also understand sending out settlers alone will speed the trip up.

I will spam out some warriors to fogbust and spam settlers to block.

As far as research, perhaps I should at least get mysticism before I drop the slider don't you think???

Er...yeah. Somehow I didn't realize you didn't have that yet :p.

Monuments are more important than usual for CHA anyway.

I know, I know. Just seeing Obama in all his glory and radiance makes people forget to actually build monuments in his image!

TMIT:

"Time Played 1:52"

That's just insane... I've been wathing your shows on Youtube and the speed you're playing (even on Immortal) is just incredible. I can't achive what you're doing even if I micromanage my self to death.

It's the RTS background ----> warcraft II, III, and starcraft were probably my top games and for the latter 2 I was ranked in their ladders for some time ;). A lot of that bleeds over into other genres! Spamming games here has definitely allowed me to pick up hot keys and shortcuts to make things faster though, and over time anyone can learn to copy good play :p.

I'm usually a bit slower on immortal though because I start focusing more carefully.

You can block off Justinian with 2 cities:
City 1: 2E of the clams. Gives you clams, 3(?) floodplains, 7-8 hammers from a levee.
City 2: 1E or 1SE of the cows in your SE. Gives you the cows and gold.

Yes, that is what I am thinking. However I believe I need at least pne city to border pop to complete the block and not find a Byzantine city sneaking past them to claim the horses or copper. I am hoping to get Buddhism spread fast to one of those cities.
