DUDE!!! did someone save his units?

Moderator Action: Ronning was not right about his freedom of speech here. However, even if posted publicly, his arts remain his. Therefore, if he decided to remove them from here, we have no right to upload it again against his will. So please refrain from uploading his arts if you have it somewhere.

Anyway, even though his threads are all deleted, are some of his units (nature ones, right?) still in the downloads database? I don't know how to search that database; I only get there by linking in from the thread itself.

If you are referring to the Nature Units post over yonder in the Unit Graphics thread (iceberg, maelstorm, etc..), those particular ones were made by Rhodie and are still there. Not sure if everything of Ronning's is gone though.

About re-uploading (this is just hypothetical):
If I have downloaded them some time ago (when he published his work) and added them to my mod.. will I be allowed to upload my mod now including his files, or should I remove them?

I'd say upload your mod with them. They're part of a bigger project, not merely standalone Ronning graphics. If they had to be removed, there's other mods (such as mine) which would have to be patched!

Unless he asks you to remove it, I don't see the point in remvoing them from your mod

The original post by Ronning that got deleted was a fairly long post about the merits of liberalism and the demerits of socialism. Now, admittedly I'm a socialist, but I think that I'm being fair when I say that it bore no relation to creation and customisation in civ 3. It was really off-topic, and should have been posted in off-topic. There was nothing particularly noteworthy or objectionable in the post (it's the kind of thing you see every day in off-topic), it was just in the wrong forum.

I must admit, as soon as I saw it I thought it was bound to be deleted or moved.
