rotate view?

How do you rotate the view? I saw this in the preview for the game. Sorry if it's been asked before the search function was disabled

Nope, You can't rotate. why would one want rotate for anyway??? All you can get out of this is getting lost

Err... yes you can. I don't have the keyboard card with me, but I think the key combo is either CTRL-(right/left arrow) or SHIFT-(right/left arrow).

Correct!

Shift+Left/Right Arrow: Temporarily rotates your view by 45 degrees
CTRL+Left/Right Arrow: Locks your view by 45 degrees

It's an interesting feature, but ultimately somewhat irrelevant.

Yeah it's irrelevant. And actually the whole game being 3D and not isometric is a mistake IMO.

Personally, I prefer the Civ1 overhead with icon view... I've been upset about the graphics changes ever since. But in RTS games I've always liked rotating the view to where I'm expanding up. Since Civ4 is trying to walk, talk, and smell like an RTS I figure what the hey. Thanks for the keyboard shortcuts folks.
