Rr

Long distance = RR :)
You must build MANY engineers and let them build roads and RR (don't bother mining or irrigating: the AI takes care of that for you:D ).

December 1951: ALL OBJECTIVES CONQUERED
The French rule the world (and I have beaten my previous record by almost 10 years  )

OK man, you`re a genius! But you`re taking the fun out of it for the rest of us, you know ;-) And I thought 1961 would be hard to beat...gosh. But what weapons did you rely on?

1) Armours in the early game
2) Howies as soon as I managed to steal Robotics
3) Some stealth fighters in the very endgame
4) And of course MANY diplomats and spies

BTW I think you can be proud if you win this scenario (even without beating any record). IIRC I have never heard of anyone winning ww2 as French up to now (apart from myself  ).

OK, think I`m on my way at becoming number two, hopefully...would be a lot better if the AI didn`t sneak attack me all the time though. Think I`ll just have to have people ready to attack all the others if necessary...and that`s hard!
PS who did you conquer first? I took the Spanish first, then the Neutrals. After that, me aim was to "split and rule", I captured Moscow, splitting Russia, and then Berlin, splitting the Axis. I`m not sure if it was too smart though, because they`re still pissed at me for that! Some people never forget/learn.

You can't ask the AI to be happy after you have started to strike hard, but if you negociate on the very turn after splitting a civ, you have a fair chance to come to a peaceful agreement with the rebels.
(I was at war with at least 2 civs almost all the time apart from the very beginning)
