Rule Suggestions and Clarifications

i have been thinking about this for a while how as we dont have that many people actually opted in for the military conflict how about we offer cash benefeits nothing to do with how many tiles you have and can be spent anywhere such as 2000gold for just joining then 300 gold for every land tile taken this might get more people involved in it

i got an idea to increase the "reality" factor of our rpg:

revolution!

we will soon change our government to republic or even democracy, maybe communism...
now we should reflect those governments in some aspects of the rpg:

government types and influences on the game

0) anarchy
during anarchy, no official income except store income should be payed. no tile-income, no title-income, no position-income (we will rarely get such a situation, as we tend to not have anarchy between chats)

1) despotism
nobelty income as we have it now

2) monarchy
all royal incomes are trippled, but 2/3 of it must be spent within the term it was received or otherwise is distributed among the citizens (this will trigger spending sprees). it will show the glamour of the monarchist aera. note that the noble-only titles keep the same income as under 1

3) republic
noble titles pay normal, royal titles are cut down to the highes noble titles payment

4) democracy
as republic, just that the payments are halved

5) communism
nobles loose their title. no payments.
land is "publicized", meaning that the income of all tiles is distributed among all citizens.

when changing away from monarchy to any other form of government, we could initiate a RPG-revolution kind of play where the royalists are deposed...

RULE-PROPOSAL:
new rule procedures:
* a new rule must be proposed to the rpg manager
* if they comply, they post it at the forum in a "rule-proposal" thread for citizen review
* if they do not comply but the proposer has at least 2 supporters, the managers have to post a discussion despite their denial
* the proposal discussion thread must be up for at least 2 days
* if at least 3 people complain and want a poll, the proposed rule has to go through a rpg-poll to accepts it
* rpg-polls have no quorum. a simple yes-win will be needed and the poll has to be up for exactly(!) 7 days (fixed closing time)

How about making that a bit simpler? Just have an approval poll required for all rule changes/new rules. When the RPG Managers agree on a rule it is put in a poll for ratification by the players. A simple plurality will pass the measure and the poll must be up for 3 days.

well, of course this SIMPLE version also works.... but has some risk:
1) if the poll failes, all work is lost... we will loose time to implementation of rules then... maybe a small change which directly comes up at the prediscussion could save us 3 days... maybe even more
2) discussion during the buildup of a rule is always good... maybe other ideas/influences come in and improove those rules (see dg1-startup ruleset for a dark-chamber version and what can happen to that kind of ruleset)
3) if nobody complains, why go through a poll? we need 5 day polls here imho to "catch" most or even all of our players.

The vast majority will go through with a 3 day poll. This will allow much faster general approval of changes. The ones that are tricky should be put in a discussion thread before the poll.

Since this is apparently the place to do this, I still have not received my tile back that was lost in the conflict rules which I am not participating in.:(

Someone please make a ruling on this...

@eyrei - As there seems to be absolutely no follow through on this by the existing managers, I will make an arbitrary "mod's ruling". Your tile will be returned and disorganizer will receive 2500g to compensate him for his trouble. You will keep the reparation money you've received as compensation for your trouble.

i would prefer receiving 2 new tiles as compensation though. and i insist on you returning your tile to zarn also :-) its the same situation

Zarn left us over a month and a half ago. He was also notified of the new rules and his opt-out option well before his tile was attacked but chose not to respond. Definitely not the same situation as eyrei who is an active player and wasn't directly notified of anything until after the fact. If Zarn posts that he wants the tile back we'll do the same thing as above.

Thank you.:)

no i muust interveen on this this is not happening disorganizer is not recieveing 2500 gold as donsig has just resigned i have to consult the conflict manager so shaitans above ruling does not count

@BCGL100 - As noted elsewhere, this was a mod decision for the benefit of the game. eyrei has been waiting (mostly patiently) for several weeks for a resolution. The information I received was that eyrei would receive his tile back and disorganizer would receive restitution for the hassle he went through and as a reward because he was following the rules legally and is being screwed out of his legally acquired tile.

I was informed over a week ago that this was the concensus opinion of the managers but there has still been no official word on the resolution. Using the knowledge of the intended decision, I determined a reward based on a reverse expected reparation for a tile.

You literally had weeks to come to a decision on this matter and did not do so. It has been taken care of now. Next time work a little faster.

well it was not my fault that nearing the end of a descion most of the managers resigned disorganizer was going to get some money yes but not 2500 gold that is way to much

what about the tile strider took from me? i want it back!

il take 3000g for it though

@jdd2007 - To my knowledge, that conflict was not carried out yet. There were no actions for the last chat due to the holiday. In any case, you're participating in the Conflicts rules, eyrei wasn't. Anyway, if he does take it, it shouldn't take me long to take it back for you.

thank you

i have a question though: are we starting fresh in the conflict game with points? do i even get new points this term to spend?
