Rumble in the Jungle - first PBEM game hosted by Jarrema

Well, in fact I cast bligth in order to disorient you.

And I'm about to launch a few ICBM.
..........
btw, The situation is not brigth ritgh now.

What's up with the save?

Ok
I do not know if you want to play it to the end, but I have no need for that (other than to see how many poinst I accquired but this is minor).
So, we can agree that the game ends and I won.
If so, I would like to hear your stories about playing Tlacatls if you want to share. I will write a short comment myself

No,no.
I'll play it to the bitter end because I'd like others to so that if I ever win.

Let's end it then write something.

Yeah, thanks. It will be nice (for me, at least)

And that's good.
But I feel that Gibbon is my winning card. If you don't assassinate him, he will win almost by himself - he already has stolen few of your units, even assassins

hmm
I believe that it is too late.
If you even kill my Gibbon and other casters, sheer number and size of my cities should suffice to outproduce you. But I do not think that it would be neccessary.

Now, I have only one fear and his name is Stephanos, but soon I will get rid of him

yeah, it obviously too late.

even the game makes fun of me !
(at least, I'm OldLion the great)

ok
Game ends.
It's a shame, that I cannot post a screen with my victory :(

Anyway, I, Jarema, am a king of all Tlacatl. (conquest vicotry).
I get slighty over 100.000 points. Today, or tommorow, I will write some comments about playing Tlacatl, they are a fun and strong civ.

Thank you for the game, guys! I did not expect it would be so short.

ok.
VERY short comment on playing Tlacatl in this game.
First, I must say that I feel Tlacatl are powerful civ. In this game, on the other hand, we do not play long enough to see some of Tlacatl-only units.
The map, with lot of jungles, make it very easy to expand. I believe that rapid expansion at the beginning of the game was my key to victory. I expanded incautiuosly, with something like 1-2 units per city.
The other thing that I used was whipping. Evil Tlacatl are perfect at using whip - they start with slavery & get special building associated with whipping. And the map that we were playing was perfect for obtaining huge amounts of food - farmed grasslands in deep jungles :)
I suppose, that this map put evil Tlacatl (whit they whipping mastery) at advantage over good ones, especially over Kshet with his Agriculture trait (almost of no use, there were already more than enough food)
But the key to my victory was one: going Cult of Essus way. First, I neglected almost all technologies that give units, so Nightwatch was a real blessing. Second, and most important, Gibbon - he is a VERY early hero-archmage. It means VERY early access to domination. During the game, he lost this promotion 3 times, but had more then enough xp to take it back. I believe, that I gained more than 50 units thanks to Gibbon only, especiall when I attacked Kshet. That not only gave me a rise in power, but also diversificated my army. Of course, Gibbon also had access to earthskin and regeneration, which was useful.
I feel that in this game Gibbon = my victory (or, at least, my early victory; of course I had some plans for later stage of game) and for alternative strategy

My biggest mistake was that I forgot about Tlacatl special priest unit. I built some shadow priests, but only in the late stage of this game. And they would be very useful before, because the only thing CoE lacks is access to healing.

Anyway, I believe that CoE is very good religion for evil Tlacatl, because of their shadow priests and their upgrades.

My other mistakes were small - unnecessarilly building Trojan horse, unnecessarilly trying to obtain powerful flesh golem, etc.

I feel compelled to explain my game.

In this game, I did not play Tlalac, I just playd "classical FFH2" so to speak,
with the intent to discover the Tlalac as the game progressed. ( never played them before)

But as usual, this civ is very specific and needs to be played according to its particularities.

So my game was going smoothly, with a "normal" developpment.
I discovered some particularities too late, like the difficult use of life magic with evil Tlalacs, etc...

Jarrema strong start baecame increasingly worrying, but we could not reach a cooperation agreement with Kalina.

We were taken the one after the other, helpless against a strong and experienced army.

At first, FoL looked like a good idea in a jungle covered world, but it dos not work at all.

In the end I made a rush toward empyreans in order to reveal and dispell all those Esus units, but it was too late.

fun game anyway.
