Running 1.52 and 1.61 on the same computer?

I remember seeing a posting on this a while back and can't seem to find it again.

Could someone detail the procedure for getting this to work?

I had both 1.52 and 1.61 working simply by Copying the entire Civ4 directory. I followed this procedure:
Install civ4 as normal
Install 1.52 patch
Copy the Civ4 directory to Civ4_152
Install the 1.61 patch
Now the normal shortcuts will start Civ1.61 but if you go to your Civ4_152 directory and run Civilization.exe it should run using the 1.52 patch (you can always make a new shortcut to this on your desktop to make it easier).

At least, this worked for me when I had upgraded to 1.61 but still needed to connect to a 1.52 PitBoss server. I don't think it will work very well if you're using mods or CustomAssets though (I never tried it).

Thanks! I'll give that a try and see how it works. I thought I had remembered reading something about needing to copy the Civ directory in My Games as well?

Just a follow up post here. I copied both the application folder and the data in the My Games area and then modified the shortcuts for the 1.52 copy. Everything appears to be working just fine.
