Hi everyone,
I have uploaded my Civ4 onto my Vista laptop and on first running it I am advised that there are compatability problems and to contact Firaxis (blah, blah....) but I can start the game and it runs fine up to the point when I upgrade to the patch_174 but then when I re-launch it won't start, I get an error "D3DX9_32.DLL was not found".
I have now found and downloaded to my laptop this missing file which I found here :- http://www.dll-files.com/dllindex/dll-files.shtml?d3dx9_32
When I now launch the game I'm getting a different problem "Error loading shader files" at the "Check ini/Init engine" stage of the startup screen (screenshot here :- http://i812.photobucket.com/albums/zz48/Vanguard_01/2009-12-25_104957.png ) and unfortunately I now haven't much of a clue as to what I need to do to overcome this.
