Time to start my own SG, since I had an idea for one, a bit of an AW variant.
We are a big, lovable, teddy bear of a civilisation. Friends with everyone. But we're a bit twitchy, a bit paranoid, a bit psychotic. When we get attacked, we get cranky, homicidal, and suffer a psychotic break. We don't care who attacked us, we're going to attack everyone we see.

Version: RAR 1.03 or 1.04 if it appears
Difficulty: Demigod or Deity (up for discussion)
Barbs: None
Map: Standard, either pangea or continents
Civ: TBD
Opponents: All random, unless there's any civs we particularly want to kill
AI aggression: Normal, it can go higher if we don't think normal will generate enough attacks

Rules: Reputation isn't golden for a change, it will probably disintegrate fairly quickly. We will do nothing aggressive, trade normally, etc. We will never give in to an AI demand other than removing troops, we can demand the AI remove troops from our territory. Whenever someone declares war on us, or one of our units/cities is attacked, we immediately declare war on everyone, regardless of what deals are in place. We'll never pay for peace, but if the AI will pay for peace we'll consider it. Of course, if we only sign peace with some civs they probably won't last, as we'll probably get triggered again by the others.

Hmm, A bit of defiant mixed in here.
I will play on the following conditions
1) We use 1.04
2) I can leave when I need to for personal reasons. This appears to be ~May 1.
I would suggest Demi-God and the Germans as a Civ. I do not want to try AWD, whcih this would quickly break down into.

:bump: What, nobody likes Rise & Rule anymore? Happy on both conditions Romeo. I don't mind moving the level down a bit more if it will make more people sign, although I don't think Demigod will be that horrible.

We could start as a 2 person SG. Or post some starts and maybe get a taker.

Suits me. I'll get 1.04 installed tonight and do a couple of starts. About time I learnt how to post screenies. Still want germans & demigod? And any civs really deserve righteous smiting that you want as AIs? I think a 2 person SG will work well.

I would be willing to go Deity if you got some absurd start like 2 Fp camels. Otherwise Germans are fine with me. Sioux, Greeks and India are also fine by me. I am not sure if Germans can see camels, but you know the type of start that is so good it is sickening.
I like Germans for Mil/Sci
I like the Sioux for Mil/Agri (Growth)
I like greeks for Science and Hoplites
I like the Indians for War Elephants. (Elephants would be a must)

I am biased towards the sci trait, and panzers rock. I can't remember what RaR panzers do, are they armour replacements with blitz? Guess we'll find out, germans & dg it is. I'll post a start sometime tonight.

These are all standard, no barbs, demigod, everything else randomised.

I like them all but #2. I see Elephants in 4, but no food bonus. It will really be hard to expand, so nix it.
Flip a coin on 3 or 1, I can live with both. #1 is faster growth, #3 is more shields.

Genius that I am, I generated a couple of starts, saved the screenshots, but didn't save the games themselves. :wallbash:

Above are the ones I remembered to save the game for, I like 1 or 3. Very slight preference for 3, as 'taekwonlea'(p) was the seed. We are "Boot to the Head Ed Grubermann of the Germans" btw. That is an elephant poking its tusks into the edge of start 4, which could be helpful. Any preference Romeo? I will play 20 turns tonight, if I haven't heard from you I will play start3.

Anyone else wants to sign up, there are still open slots. It's only demigod.

Heh, beat me to it. Coin flip said 3, I'll play it now. Found in place for fresh water & coast, Berlin will be a monster.

Start 3 got destroyed by a jag warrior rush. Start 1 it is.

3450BC: Learn Ritualism, and Berlin has incense in its borders. :D

3250BC: Disease strikes

3000BC: Meet Korea, We give them Ritualism for Pottery & 30 gold. There is also a pair of FP oasis for us.

2630: Research Writing, writing and 40 gold gets us Cultivation from Korea, and apparently we're on Dune, as we have spice colonies to both the NE & SE
Start researching Caste System, Korea doesn't have it yet.

2590: Leipzig founded
So much for Korea not having Caste System, but the research time is cut in half.

2550: Korea are 4 techs ahead, food will not present a problem for us, discovering a camel or 2 when we learn domestication would make the starting location almost perfect.

IHT: Not much
Turn 1: Champ to wiseman.
Turn 6: lux to 10%.
Turn 7: Caste comes in, start Fermentation.
Turn 9: Lux to 30%
Turn 10: Nada
Turn 11:
Turn 12: Fermentation comes in, can only get boatbuilding and 5 gold. Nuts. Start Masonry.
Turn 13:
Turn 14:
Turn 15: Disease strikes Lepzig
Turn 16: Disease again.
Turn 17: Learn Masonry
Turn 18: Clan builds
Turn 19:
Turn 20:
Would settle where the TG stands. Not much happened. We should race to Dyna now. I thought Fermentation could pay off bigger.
Korea has 5 cities, we have 2. That will change soon. I couldn't find anyone else.

Lurkers Comment on RaRs German UU (panzer):
They are an armor replacement and have addiotional +2 attack/+2 defense bombardment strength/+1hp/+1 movement over normal armors. However, they cannot blitz - we have took out that for all mechanized units, since it is quite overpowering with the higher movement.Of course, you can make them blitz again within armies...

1750: All good.

1675: Research Urbanisation-->Dyna

1650: Heidelburg founded

1500 & 1475: Disease in Leipzig

1450: Research Dyna-->Philosophy, revolt.

1375: We're a monarchy

1300: Konigsberg founded

1250: zzz. Pioneer is on the way to the edge of the desert to block off Korea, we'll have the rest of the island for our own cities. Lack of contacts is hurting, we'll beat Korea to philo, even if we don't get a free tech, need to make sure we get sailing as part of the trading and go exploring. Turns are going quickly, we may as well keep playing 20 at a time.

I will get to this after I finish Bez 1. Those turns are taking ages. It is kind of challenging to outhink, outmove and outposition a Sid AI that has numerical superiority.

A flurry of trading at turn 4 Reveals sheep and coffe and horses near berlin. We are also down only 3 techs now.
We have 2 irons close to Berlin. Korea builds the Sphinx. See a Zulu town way down south, send scout towards it. Getting Berlin ready for the oracle.
I think we are going to want the great library. Also their is a korean settler pair moving towards us, we will want to block it off, so we get the iron and ponies.
This start just will take a while to develop, but we should have 3 powerhouse cities by the end of the middle ages.
