The world's most famous "hockey mom" can now join the ever-growing list of icons booed by Philly fans. Move over, Santa Claus and Mike Schmidt, Sarah Palin was booed tonight in front of Willow and Piper as she was introduced to drop the first puck at the Flyers' home opener against the New York Rangers.

Despite pleas from the scoreboard at the Wachovia Center, which read "Flyers fans, show Philadelphia's class and welcome America's No. 1 hockey mom, Sarah Palin," ABC News' Jake Tapper reports that the booing was so prevalent that the music had to be cranked up to "deafening" levels in order to compete with the fans from the city of Brotherly Love.

Palin knew she was going to be booed, but she still trotted out Willow and Piper with her to center ice. Mother of the year material there.

Palin has the face and voice of a stuck-up middle school teacher, I can hardly understand what some find in her. She got what she deserved for her idiotic, folksy-flamboyant ways, while dragging her poor trophy children along.

And yeah, now, in my mind, Philly will be celebrated for more than Rocky and cheesesteak.
 
Anybody making an issue or being happy about this as some kind of an event is an absolute moron. They boo everybody in Phili. Hell, they bood Santa Clause before.

Well, I'd boo Santa too. Load of lies, is what that is (sorry to any posters under the age of 5 that hadn't caught on yet). Why do parents feel the need to lie to their children for no apparent reason? booo indeed.

And Philly had ECW, which was awesome before Vince McMahon raped it. They don't boo everyone in Philly. Just everyone who sucks.
