Sasanian Iran

I like civilizations that get you to focus on terrain and features more, I just find that fun. So this one looks like it'd be enjoyable for me.

However, IMO the bonus to producing Encampments and their buildings is pretty generic, and changing it might make the civ more unique... there are many options for military-related bonuses, maybe keeping with the encampment theme, but I just feel like it could be spiced up a little because bonus production toward certain districts just seems so bland... and if you have a unique improvement that provides production already, I'd rather have the ability spent on something else, like something that might make your military more powerful to pair with your reduced warmonger penalties.

Just my input, and I can't comment on balancing because I'm not good enough at Civ to really give good advice on balance.

Good luck with your modding!

I can probably make art for you, but I warn you: configuring it is very hard. (As an example, my avatar is something that I made.)
Spoiler Another example! :

(Although Shapur II, sadly, doesn't look much like anybody in-game; this may take a bit longer than a different leader...)

I've removed Furs and Deer from favored starts for now. Reason being, you end up by tundra so often, and I don't think that reflects the civ nor its uniques well. Unfortunately, that means starting with a potential camp nearby is less likely than before. If anyone has any thoughts on that end, feel free to share.
Do the start bias, but have a strong bias towards basically all terrain that isn't tundra/snow.

By the way, I would add a 2 start bias for literally every. single. terrain that isn't snow or tundra, or their variants; i.e. Plains Hills, Plains Mountains, Grass Hills, Grass Mountains, etc.
Also, I would add a 3 or 4 bias for features and resources that can't be in tundra or snow, like Rainforest or Floodplains.

Do they replace anything or are they unique?
Are they a unique 3D model? If not, what do they use?
I (Hopefully, I'm not sure if I can) could make a custom unit model (like @Deliverator 's Moar Units mod) and a custom 3D model for the Qanat. (However, you're going to have to configure it yourself!)
And also, do you want a custom unit icon, or not?

Will do! With the way things have been going I'm sure many more issues will pop up between now and release. Once it's out, am thinking either Bahram V, Yazdgerd II, or Borandukht next.
Sounds good! By the way, who's doing your art? (I could really use someone to do mine -- if I get it working. I can make it, but it just takes so long.

Have you figured out the Leader Art yet, and if so, is your mod in XML? (Last resort time for me!)

And you have the Production icon instead of culture.

Nice work!

Do you have any ideas for a UU/UI just for Shapur? I was thinking Nakhal Fort.

Oh, and thanks for the tutorial! I hadn't seen that.

(Sorry for the lateish response, I got Civ to work on my computer and I've been busy conquering Brazil.)

Hey, congratulations on getting it to work! That must've been frustrating as all hell trying to mod without it. Already frustrating enough as is!
I had to reinstall steam in a different directory... ugh.

As for UU/UI, I wasn't planning on it. Don't want him to be overpowered with too many uniques, that's for sure. But I suppose there's plenty out there to work with as far as giving each Sasanian leader a unique unit. Could go with Dailamites, Sasanian foot archers, paighan, Medes, Armenian cavalry, all the different light cavalries, Lakhmids, camel archers . . . Hmm. Something to consider. Not like I have the art atm anyway.

I could make icons/units.artdef stuff if you want, but be warned: I'm not sure if the units.artdef will 100% work, so be prepared for wonky units!

And also, most Vanilla leaders have a UU/UI, so it won't be too OP.
Don't let it turn into this, though.

So, art is still not done?

Can you send me the file? I have a few tricks up my sleeve (that I don't know how to do very well... but I'm learning.) If you're using ModBuddy, can you send the project file (Look under Documents/Firaxis Modbuddy/Civilization VI, and copy the file that your project is called) If you're not using ModBuddy and haven't built your solution in it... well, there's your problem!

And the Frahangestan and Wuzurgmihr sound great!
