Save our Citizens!

No more whips!

The current government is seeking to build libraries with the bones of our people! Our domestic leader and our cultural leader see our people not as citizens but as building materials!

Look deep into your hearts my fellow Phoenaticans. Do you see whips? If not then please vote against pop rushing the libraries in

Khatovar

Boston

and Chicago!

And join Save our Citizens! now by posting in this thread. If we show enough opposition the government may rethink it's policy!

You can make a difference!

Heck yeah, I'll join your group. Now I'm signed up for reading and saving lives.

I'm pro-life ;) . Sign me up!

What do you have against pop-rushing? (we need a better term for this, it gets confused with feeding workers into a city for pop-building purposes)

I don't understand why you're protesting against more culture due to decreased building times. It is essential for us to consolidate our territory in order to present a unified cultural front! And besides that, our cities might become needlessly overpopulated..;) ..yeah...

I say whip the drones! Our Immorts will keep them in line! :whip:

I also have to disagree with the members.

I, although am not a citizen of one of the three cities in question , would be more than willing to sacrifice my spare time (even more) to help build such an improvement in my city, should such a decision be made.

Libraries are an essential part of every city and civilization's culture. The faster we build them, the more research our cities will generate and be more respected among the other nations for its culture.

Citizen_K: This thread is for those (few) of us who are AGAINST rushing improvements that use citizens. Please do not post here unless you agree with us. You may start your own citizen's group and thread to tell the world the joys of what we have come to call 'pop rushing'. You can call your group "Whips 'R Us".

Lovro: We have the

GREAT LIBRARY

and are not depending on our own research for thechs right now.

Where were all you 'culture lovers' a couple thousand years ago and more importantly, where will you all be when we can no longer turn citizens into buildings? I'm sure the current culture craze will blow over once we get to monarchy.

I cannot make an argument science-wise. Although the Great Library can only result in a limited number of techs, you are right, libraries would not be a big asset at this time

Culture-wise, however, libraries are an immense asset. We should live up to our worldwide reputation of culture-loving people :)

I see your side of the whipping argument, but the lands in the immediate vincinity of the three cities in question are still undeveloped, so overcrowding them is of no use. IMHO, the libraries are worth the citizen.

instead of pop-rushing...call it slave labor camps...or forced labor...or slave rushing...or blood building...

I agree with you donsig.

I fear our leaders have grown drunk on the blood of our fellow citizens.

We must begin to find ways to rise up as a people and stop the madness. Sure, many will say I don't care about those people, they live in some other city. But they will come for you too my friends, and they have.

The mass graves populate countrysides all over Phoenetica. It is wrong people!

I have to disagree on this. I feel others can disagree with us, but no one here's gonna love you for that. :p

There is no urgent need to expand our borders in Boston and Chicago since they are not near the front. Expanding citizens to do this would more likely hurt our long-term growth. If our cities grow too large, we could build workers to improve our infrastructure.

Killing people (even computer-generated ones) to make buildings is WRONG! :cringe: :aargh3:

Someone should make a monument to our fellow citizens who have sacrificed themselves so that we may enjoy a better life.

Forced Labor?

The Trade Department is also against pop-rushing (umm.. forced labor). This could put a strain on income, and possibly defense, if the city goes into disorder. The only whips that are used should be in the event of a dire emergency. If we can build the libraries normaly without the threat of invasion, or The Great Library becoming obsolete, then let's build them normally. If we improve our infrastructure, for gold and trade, we would earn enough that we won't even need this forced labor.

I agree and I believe that being a scientific minded civilization, our people are more inclined to build a library faster :goodjob:
and hence I believe that wasting our citizens lives for a trivial gain is absurd and unnecessary:p

"Whipping" if I may use that term, is not what civilized people do. However culture and science are musts, but I still think that we shouldn't use population rushing. Also, though not neccesary, I thought that they emigrated, not died. Must go to help the barbarians.

I'll happily sign up to this campaign as well. Whipping tends to be counterproductive in captured cities since you have to devote even more resources to prevent them rioting afterwards. Also, as has been clearly pointed out in this thread, the parallels with "real world" history are distasteful to say the least. Only in desperate circumstances would I support it.
