Saviors Of A Broken World 1.5: Sending A Message

New character posted, check my OP. :D

Presumably, he's beating up Satan right now.

I take it someone killed Ransack after I left then?

No, he just decided to forget about him and create another character.

Also, Sam, why Houston and not Dallas or San Antonio or El Paso or Amarillo or...? :mischief:

Yay for write ups of missions where I did nothing!

Sometimes I wonder if we're really doing what we came here to do. It seems that we've done nothing bu t minor robberies ever since we arrived; nothing world changing, nothing that gets us anywhere. We robbed a Jewelery store yesterday. A jewelery store. That isn't going to change anything, even in the short term, it's barely a stepping stone on our path. Perhaps it's time to take more independant action...

Still, it wasn't a completely unproductive night. That 'ransack shark' has finally been imprisoned after a somewhat desperate effort by myself and the Raven. After the heist the gang were escaping, being chased by some guy calling himself 'Eagle', but he and Raven got into a fight over something. I used the destraction to slip away from the chase and head back to them, and was just in time to see 'Eagle' leave. Then Raven and I got attacked by the shark, and he almost killed her before I took him down. Knocked her helmet clean off too.

It was Natasha Belliam. And when Mockingbird arrived it became pretty clear she was Nadia Lane. She figured me out fairly fast, and we exchanged a few words. It's good to finally know who I need to talk too to contact Raven, since I have a lot to say to her. Maybe I'll be able to get started now.

I love how we're supposed to be Sending a Message and yet all we do is rob stuff.

The new building shouldered its way up through the skyline of Metro City, a bright new light in the darkness of the still night sky. Well, not totally still Fear reflected as he latched onto it and launched himself to the top. The night sky of Metro City was never still in the way of other cities; somewhere amongst them you could always find movement, heroes and villains flickering across the night in the ever-wheeling dance of Crime and Justice.

Fear could have kicked something; it was a horrible thought that no matter what the heroes did they could never succeed, never reform society in such a way as to prevent criminals, only catch them, without even time to give themselves a pat on the bacck before going after the next. Something had to be done. Something had to change. He was going to change it.

He glanced down. No, that wasn't quite true. They were going to change it. Him and Observer. Alone, perhaps, against the world. Alone against the system, the never-ending cycle of selfish violence that defined mankind. Even they weren't immune. No matter how great a super you were, criminals were stopped by violence. It was a simple thing that for years they had both accepted; and even now, after their change, it was with violence they would utter in the New Order.

Fear sighed, dropping himself into the building itself. Observer would be asleep by now. Breifly he considered checking on her, but fought off the idea. Anna didn't need him watching over her like some overprotective boyfreind, and he wasn't going to become one. Overprotective, or a boyfreind. He liked living in a world of the sane, thank you very much.

New character posted. :D

Can I possibly have someone post (either thread or VM/PM me) whenever a mission time is set? I for one have a very strange schedule, and am not really on the chat room overmuch. Only was in the last mission I played by accident.

I can post in the thread about missions.

Lux awoke with a start as something dripped down his forehead. Rubbing his eyes, he briefly wondered what had happened, but his memory was hampered by his annoyance he felt at whatever was leaking onto his face. The ACID suit responded to his thoughts, and the faceplate slid into position as he raised his arm. With a bang, the windscreen of the star fighter was blasted off. Water flowed into the ship as he stood up and looked outside. The ship was partially submerged in the ocean, so Lux rocketed out of the ship onto the nearest solid surface. He turned to look at the remains of the star fighter, which slipped below the surface surprisingly fast. Just before the on-board computer fizzled out, it cheerily reminded him via ACID communicator that he was about 7000 years off from his targeted destination.

"^Could have been worse...^" Lux mumbled in his harsh native language. "^I expected to be off by at least fifteen thousand.^"

Lux wondered what his next course of action would be. A small change would be enough to change the course of time and prevent the Heart of Chaos from being used. However, he was easily in position to change the future course of the Terran Empire. The right person at the right time could do a lot to change the universe, perhaps even for the better.

Amidst his thoughts, he couldn't help but notice a band of humans nearby, deep in conversation. Keeping his distance, he was easily able to eavesdrop on them.

"...wants us over there immediately. There's a good paycheck, and the other bosses are there to handle the heroes."

"I ain't going nowhere if that shark thing is with them."

"Dude, the Shark scares you? What about that Fear guy and his girlfriend? Hell, Fear even stood up to the Shark and lived."

"Both of you shut it. I don't care how scary you find the other guys, if Arianrhod wants you there, you're there, got it? You want to go out the same way as Tyrone?"

"Hell no. I like my head where it is, thanks."

"Good, then move it. We have to be there in five minutes, tops."

Lux watched the goons leave quickly. Well, if he wanted to get a jump on changing the past, there was no better place to start than at the bottom. Firing up the thrusters, he tailed the thugs to their destination.

"^Hmm, wonder how good my English is...^" Lux wondered. "Hello human, I am named Lux Oeotheti. It is nice to...obviate you. ^Yes, that sounds right...^"

OOC: This is just for fun, and to justify my villain showing up out of nowhere for the next mission.
