Hi everyone,

i've got a slight problem that i was hoping somebody could help me out with.
Basically, this is the situation: I spent a rather substantial amount of time on drawing an own map (just downloaded the patch for the new editor).
However, when I try and start the game the following notice pops up: "Scenario Invalid! Could not open scenario file. The file may be corrupt!"

Strangely, Civ3 does recognise older maps made ages ago, which is quite bizarre. It's not to do with the new editor patch, is it? I really wouldn't want to give up the new mini map and starting point feature ...

Any sort of help to resolve this problem will be greatly appreciated, many thanks in advance!!

PS: "Load game", "preferences", "audio preferences", "credits" and "exit" are the only buttons working, if I click on any of the others, nothing happens at all.
Oh yeah, and I'm using Win XP, if that's of any importance.

If somebody could please help me out here, I'm desperate!!

Cheers

I'm not sure if you've managed to fix your problem, but I can suggest a few things. You could have had a bad installation, or files were placed or addressed wrong. What you can do is reinstall Civ3. Uninstall the patches and the game, and delete the folders. Restart the computer and install Civ3 again. Patch it up, and run it.

The only map editors i know of are the ones that are included in the game folders when you install Civ3. When you patch up the game, it automatically patches the editors too, so I'm not quite sure which new editor patch you're talking about. When you create the map, you save it as a .bic, .bix, or .biq file, depending on which editor you are using. .bic scenarios work in Civ3, .bix scenarios are for PTW, and .biq scenarios are for Conquests. As long as you use the right game to load the scenario, everything should work fine.
