SCENARIO PREVIEW: The Dark Ages

im not sure about this, but i think athanatoi was the greek name for the "immortals" of persia
Yes it is: A-thanatoi = without death = immortals. *Teacher mode off*

Immortals are out of the scenario's time range. And Sassanids will have no UU.

The Huns disappeared quick after Ghensis Khan’s death, and most of the area they occupy on the map (Ukraine) was left relatively unsettled (there were mostly nomadic tribes around, and it was used as a corridor for later steppes nomads' migrations). If you place only barbarians instead of Huns, idea that I like :) , you could have the Magyars and Bulgars kicking in soon from the Steppes. Bulgars were a very painful thorn at the side of the Byzantines, from the start up to the end, thus why giving them just one city? Your map is huge and they deserve more!

Actually the main problem I see with retracing the Dark Age from an early date such as 420AC is that most tribes have not yet completed their historical migration, some not even started the invasion of Roman lands! Thus, it will be very hard to control how these civ expand in the first century of the game. This will require a lot of fine tuning with the number and position of starting units :crazyeye:

No idea for the other german tribes, never mind they were just meat for the great Charles! :D
