That's right! After playing the one for Civ3, I wanted to make my own. This will feature a few Scenarios when the final version is done.

STORY
In the year 180 AD, the Han Dynasty of China was crumpling. A rebellion known as the Yellow Turbans rose and ravaged the land. Then a evil tyrant, Dong Zhuo, took control of the central government and bullied the young Emperor. Then a colalition rose and he was soon displaced. Fighting continued until the Han throne was usurped by Cao Pi, who created Wei. Then Liu Bei established the Shu-Han Dynasty, and Sun Quan established the Wu Dynasty. Wei was turned into Jin after the defeat of Shu by the Sima Family. Jin finnaly united the land after years of fightng.

Props to Head Serf for his China Public Map V 1.0

If I can get some help in my thread then things will ZOOM forward. Can you test the beta and tell me what you think?

Hi, you beat to it. I was going to build Sango as a scenario too. But, I don't mind if I could contribute what I have to help you building this scenario :)

I have a raw map that I built already without any resources yet. I believe the landscape of the map is very accurate. The landscape is as of 195AD in china. For example, you can see Yellow river is flowing in a different path than today, Yangtze river's delta is shaped differently.

You might want to use it for your scenario. Let me know if you do. Attached is the map viewing from Civ4Editor.

Thanks alot. The map I had was more like modern day china, extending far west. If you can send me the map to rot3k10@yahoo.com, I'll take a look and tell ya what I think. The pic looks good though. I was having a frustrating naming the right citys what. Oh, how big is your map? And, do you do python?

Hell yeah! I can't wait to play this scenario!

EDIT:

Should I test this scenario or wait for the new map?

Hi, I've just posted the map. The link is:
http://forums.civfanatics.com/showthread.php?t=164507

The map is 100x100.

I had a look at your base map. It is good, got all the english city names. I was frastrated in translating all the city names, which was why I did not continue building the scenario.

I am not very keen in modding in python. I am more interested in map building and historical research. However, I was thinking to make the units moving faster such that it won't take 1000 years for a unit to move from 1 side of china to another :) I did some calculation and I think a ground unit should move at least 5 blocks per turn, provided that the turn is measured in weeks.

Ehh, I guess you didn't see these. The second one has more than enough towns translated (not in pinyin)

Hi Damon. when I read your post, I thought it was posted by Dragon and so I thought it is the base map, but obviously it isn't.

Dragon, it might be a good idea to use my map and use Damon's base map for city placement in your scenario. But of course, you might have better source already.

Really looking forward for to play RTK scenario!

The map i use is from kongming.net. I'll check out your map and tell ya how it is. Python is a thing we need. Mods are also needed but just mixmatching unit pats may work. I should have a update by the middle of the week. Thanks for your support. We'd like any help possible in mods and python.

I belive "truban" in The Yellow Turban Rebellion is the old translation. The better translation is Yellow Scarf. Just throwing that out there.

I CANNOT wait for this scenario to be done I am a huge fan of the period and think Chinese history is much overlooked in civ.

Yeah, certainly agree python is an important part of building a good mod. I was just expressing where I am interested to contribute.

Thanks for considering using my map. One thing i should mention about my map is that I've delibrately making only the larger rivers flowing continuously (e.g yellow river and yangtze river). For the minor rivers, i have reserved space for placing cities to actually 'connect' those rivers, making these cities being more stretegically important. These cities include for example "Chen Liu", "Xia Pi" and "Xiang Yang".
