SCENARIO: The Napoleonic Wars Mk. II

Maybe you're right. :p

Okay, I've filled in much of western Russia (to Samara/Kazan and eastwards), and the Russian population is now very close to being accurate.

great, I think it will make for a more realistic Russia, that still is not a monster in the game....
I am really looking forward to this, great job

how soon do you think you'll be done?

need playtesters?

I'll need playtesters, yes. :)

Not sure when I'll be done. I'll probably be done with the main structure within a week or two, start playtesting, and add other things when I have time.

another week? I can't wait that long
must have now

now, anyways, what animations are you using for each unit?

you know, the scenario will be much slower if you put more cities in Russia.

I only added 5 or so cities in Russia, so it shouldn't be a big deal.

At least a week. ;) I have to make sure all of the units are balanced and their numbers correct before I can even test it myself. I'm not sure how long that'll take.

The unit animations are being done by BAP. Since he's so great, he agreed to take requests from me for units. ;) I'm sure I'll keep him pretty busy until the scenario is ready for release. :p

Updated minimap:

Changes:
  • Major changes to population values and tile improvements. If I listed them all it would take thousands of lines. :p
  • Many cities added to eastern Russia to give the empire a bigger feel and a more accurate population value.
  • Milan (part of Austria) was moved east one tile.
  • Würzburg's borders were expanded some (it only included 11 tiles before the change).
  • Posen was taken from Poland and added to Prussia.
  • Riga was taken from Poland and added to Russia.
I think that's it. :p

the map looks great, can we see some up-close screenshots?

Okay, okay I'll have a few screenshots for you in a second. :p

I've organized all of the main information for each country into a graph, which I'll put into my next post.

Here's the chart I promised. Population is obviously, the number of people in all cities. GNP is the amount of commerce made, MFG is the number of shields produced by cities, and Productivity is the general output of the country in relation to its population. For all countries, the bigger the number for all of these categories, the better.

I'm pretty sure I've got the population of most countries correct, but if someone knows a place where I'm wrong, then please correct me. :)

Code:
Nation Population	GNP	MFG	Productivity

France 25.31 mil	1036	219	1210
Great Britain	17.34 mil	720	134	915
Austria 18.06 mil	439	156	700
Russia 37.86 mil	661	119	684
Ottomans	16.87 mil	562	51	585
Spain 12.98 mil	426	76	513
Prussia 7.66 mil	249	91	392
Denmark 3.25 mil	135	29	206
Sweden 2.79 mil	110	16	177
Portugal	2.64 mil	119	22	155
Venetia 2.31 mil	95	22	134
Poland 2.17 mil	67	13	124
Papal States	1.21 mil	87	10	124
Netherlands	1.71 mil	68	15	99
Bavaria 1.71 mil	48	28	90
Palatinate	1.53 mil	50	23	85
Saxony 1.71 mil	49	26	80
Mecklenburg	1.53 mil	66	6	80
Würzburg	1.36 mil	36	21	75
Genoa 1.05 mil	66	6	72
Helvetia	0.64 mil	34	21	66
African Minors	0.39 mil	33	8	65
Piedmont	1.05 mil	31	12	59
Württemburg	1.53 mil	28	25	51
Baden 1.20 mil	26	14	40
Let me know what you guys think of the values. Some are pretty finite (like Helvetia's population), but others can be tweaked.

Nope!

I'm thinking...maybe you should change the city graphics? in Napolen's time there were no big buildings and factories in cities yet.....and thouse factories in hte countryside don't look very realistic/from that time....I can try and merge the middle age and the industrial city styles together if you want me to, or are you planning something else for it?

I've been looking around for alternate graphics, since, yes, you're right, the factories aren't exactly accurate. ;) So far I haven't found anything good enough yet, so I'm still looking.

If you could find/make something better, I would appreciate it.

I'll try

here's my first try at it....I think it looks more Italian, so you can use it for Italian states, and maybe Spain...

You have any pictures I can use? Or maybe just sucgestions?

Any way, the Duke of Savoy, owner of Piemont got Sicilia in 1719, and then exchanged it for Sardinia in 1723, thus becoming king of Piemont - Sardinia. So there's no reason why Savoy and Piemont should be independant
