Screen Darkness

Hi everyone.

First off I am very new to this site and somewhat challenged with my computer abilities. I am playing Civ IV and my territory remains dark. I am not talking about the "fog of war" concept but rather my own territory. I can't even see the squares directly beside my own cities! Can someone please help me? I am doing something wrong? Is there an update for the game that will allow me to actually enjoy what seems like a fantastic game?

Yeah that happens to a lot of people (like me) with not-so-good graphics cards apparently. Follow this thread http://forums.civfanatics.com/showthread.php?t=135250 installing the Omega drivers as suggested somewhere in there fixed it for me but the game is too slow now so you may want to go with the black terrain anyway
