Screen scolling bug

I can't be the only person having this issue with the new patch, right? After I click End Turn, if I scroll around, it usually ends up locking the scroll action into place, so to speak, which is irritating when you want to look around while a turn is processing. It'll just keep scrolling to the side, usually until it's back to your turn, although sometimes it'll stop when the camera snaps to show another battle. Hasn't happened until the new patch for me.

I can confirm this. Rather annoying. Not sure if I encounters this post path as well but definitely in G+K.

Yep, this is a known issue. It only seems to happen if you move around the screen in between pressing next turn and the AI turns actually processing, though.

This happens about every other turn for me. The camera is forced in one of the screen corners during the AI turn and there's nothing I can do about it. I think I trigger it by panning the camera while the computer is trying to focus the actual turns, resulting in the described problem.

As a quick 'fix', I've discovered that if you click on the mini-map a few times, it stops the uncontrolled panning. It can start again if you try to pan though. Also, moving the view via the mini-map keeps this from triggering in the first place, so there is that.

Yeah, but after installing GK if I click anywhere during certain parts of an enemy's turn my game has a chance to crash.

Glad to find out it isn't just me. Did anyone confirm if it is the multi-threading issue? Or have any of you found a real fix yet. This only started after I started playing G&K.

According to some reports it seems to be triggered if you're in the process of scrolling when some AI combat animations start playing. It will apparently continue to scroll until the combat animations have finished. Would you mind checking if this seems to be the case for you? One way would be to deactivate the animations in the options menu and see if the issue still comes up.

Thank you for the reply. The multi thread fix did not solve the problem. Yes it does perform the continuous scroll until AI combat animations have concluded. It is enough to make you dizzy. I will try the disable animations as you suggest but that will seem to take something form the game. Does disabling animations also mean they will be disabled when I am in combat? Hope there is a fix for this. I am really enjoying G&K.

Ever since G&K, when I'm in "Please Wait" mode, sometimes the map will start wildly spinning as if someone spun the globe. I thought maybe I moved the mouse to the edge and the computer registered it but then was in the middle of computing the turn and kept it going. I can click on the minimap and it'll go to that spot but then it resumes spinning in the same direction as it was. It stops once my turn starts, but it's a bit nausea-inducing.

I've only seen this problem since G&K, same hardware, etc. Anyone else?

Turning of combat animations will turn them off for all combat, including your own units. I did mean it more as a way to confirm that this is related to the combat animations.
Also one more question: How do you usually scroll? By use of the keyboard, by dragging the map, by clicking on the minimap or by moving the mouse to the sides of the screen?
It seems that users that scroll a certain way seem to have this a lot (like you) while most players don't seem to experience this at all or at least not regularly.

Oh and glad to hear you enjoy G&K :-)

I too am experiencing this issue. From what I've gathered, it happens only during combat when a computer is attacking. I usually move the screen by means of the mouse and moving it to the edges, and it seems to happen most when I'm in the action of moving the display this way while a computer player attacks.

Once it gets started, there doesn't seem to be any way to stop it, but rapidly clicking on the mini map where the battle is going on shows that the animations are frozen until the entire computer's turn is over. Once the attacking process ends, it goes back to normal and I can control the screen again.

This has only started since installing G+K, so hopefully there will be a fix for this, or a workaround that doesn't involve turning animations off.
