Can someone tell me how to change the screen size to fit my '98 laptop? I can't find the option under preferances and I'm totally lost. Please help.

It's one of those older bulkier laptops, if that's any constellation

If your laptop screen resolution is less than 1024x768, you're out of luck. Civ3 will not play at a lower resolution.

Sorry.

Well, at least I can play it on my main computer. I was just hoping I could play it in my room, not my family room.

Thanks for the help.

I doubt it. I'd really like to, but I'll probably get a new laptop in a year or two, if my dad is telling the truth. Or maybe I might buy it after Vista or Linux takes over and the price of an XP laptop goes down a bit.

Sorry for the double post, but do you know of any cheaper XP laptops with wireless internet?

What double post? ;)

Seriously, look around. Ebay would be a place to start. It depends on how much you're willing to spend. Of course, most laptops now are coming with Vista, so you'll need a better laptop than can run XP. You'll just have to look around and see what you can find.

I have a brand new computer, but my screen size is unusually large. When i first tried to play the game i got some screen resolution warning. I ignored it. But when i first started playing the game it was very laggy when i would scroll around and look at the map and stuff, however the load times were fast. The problem was that my computer's screen was just too big.

Anyways I was about to ask what can i do to fix the problem, but i just booted up the game again and the problem was fixed somehow. There was no lag at all. I think from rebooting my computer the problem was somehow fixed.

I just thought i would share that

Try KeepRes=1 in conquest.ini.

Can create small bugs in high resolution though.

I have question about that but starting new thread/topic for it ;)
