Yes, XML files have also been changed. And XML files modified for Civ4 are not compatible with Walords :(

We are two working on that mod : Dubmetender and I :) Dubmetender works on XML files, on artworks, like reskininng some units, etc. and he has done some Python. And I work on Python and on the SDK.
And it is Dubmetender who created the mod, I joined him later. And he is also the person who comes with most of the ideas :D
And all ideas are welcome, sure ;)

Yes indeed. And when I wanted to convert the SDK files I have modified for the Vanilla version to the Warlords version, I used such a software. It's really helpfull ! But even with such a software, I spent few hours to convert it :crazyeye:

And I notice that Dubmetender is from Toulouse. One of the guys, "Tamerlin", who was really involved in CTP2 modding at Poly is also from Toulouse. But he's not posting a lot lately: he only recently got married so I guess he's got other things on his mind.

So just to clarify, This will be a full CTP mod for Civ 4?

What features of CTP have you included?

and if you need beta tester, I will test it for hours and hours on end for you. ;)

Sorry, it's not a full CTP mod for civ4, it's just a futuristic mod, with some ideas come from CTP, but not all...
At the beginning, i was thinking that the space race is not realistic, because i think humanity don't go out solar system before some centuries, so i wanted begin the space race more late in game...
And when Major begin help me, naturally we talk about CTP...
 
I pretty much agree with Dubmetender. I think it will be a while before we get into space.

I have a question though. Do dds files use a color index for transparency or do they use a mask? I cannot get my new graphics to work. All I get is a purple box but I am using the dds converter to convert a png file (created from a masked object in CorelDRAW) to a dds "icon" and finally changing the xml to reflect its location. All I get in the game though is a purple (or rather magenta) box instead of my graphic.

Interesting indeed - are there any pre-Warlords mods that allow sea colonies?
 
sorry optimizer... I normally don't view this thread anymore since we have moved this discussion to the genetic era mod thread.

As far as I know, there are none. The ViSa mod has incorporated some of our mod (I think this includes sea colonies) but I think it is for warlords as well. Maybe you can ask them.
 
our smac mod will be adding sea colonies soon. I am currently looking at ways to do it. The sea colony mod works really nicely, however I want the colony to be built on a sea square- not a rezzd land square and also to have alternate art and even alternate naming scheme. ie civfanatics seabase, instead of civfanatics city

sea colony mod? Haven't heard of it... but if you are referring to the Genetic Era Mod... then all I have to say is huh!!???. You are probably talking about another mod.

Our mod allows colonization anywhere on the sea floor and it remains the sea floor. It also allows building of "tunnels" on the sea floor (though we need a graphic besides the railroad). This is a lot like sea colonies worked in CTP and CTP2. True... the individual building graphics are similar to those in a regular city but there is a big biosphere shell that gets built around it so that it looks rather different from land based cities.

I like the idea of using different graphics for the buildings though... we just are focused on other things, especially right now.

As for a different naming scheme.... good idea!

Although I would like to take credit fro the different naming scheme, unfortunately that was sid's idea...
