Hi all,

Is there a way to see other civs when playing in a game with > 8 civs?

In the GOTM's where there are many civs (eg GOTM21 - Greece), the Foreign Advisor only shows 8 civs (7 others + me). Is there a way to change which civs are shown? For civs that aren't shown, is there a way to know who is at war/has pacts/trades with who?

Cheers

Whenever you ask any question about any subject related to Civ3 or any of its gazillion patches, expansions or other incarnations it is always helpful to state the name of the software version you are playing and the version number of the software patch that you have installed.

For Civ3v1.29, when you meet new rivals, you can hold the shift key down and right click on any leaderhead position in the Foreign advisor screen and this will allow you to choose which leaderhead will appear in that position.

For the PTW versions there is a "More civs" button on the screen.

When the civs get swapped into the display, then you can review the pacts lines if you swap around a few other civs to get the big picture.

From the main map display screen (the screen where you normally play the game) you can jump directly to contacting any civ that you have contact with by using the "D" button on the lower right hand edge of the screen. ("D" stands for Diplomacy)

Thanks for the quick reply. I am using Civ3v1.29 and the answer you gave was exactly what I needed - shift + right click.

Where can I find a list of shortcut keys such as these? (I have lent out my Civ 3 rulebook to a friend in the hope to convince them to play)?

Thanks again

Check the Civ 3 reference section on the main and the first item is a great pdf with all you'll need.
