Selecting and translating text

A somewhat bizzare question:
I'm seeking to use Babylon (or an equivalent app) to translate words from the civilopedia (while in-game). The motivation here is to get my dad to a. learn English. and b. play civ...

Unfortunetly you can't select text from the civilopedia, and babylon has a hard time recognizing the words when using the middle mouse button (sometimes selecting only half the word, reading the letter 'd' as "cl" etc.)
Any help would be appreciated.

The Civilopedia file is in text format in your C:/Program Files/Infogrames Interactive/Civilization III/Text/ folder called Civilopedia.txt. It's not as convenient as in game, but you can select and copy and paste text.
