Selling Tech to the GL owner ?

Level : Monarch, Standard Map, 8 civs.
I have the opportunity to sell a tech (Theology) to the owner of the Great Library. However, I am the only one so far having this Tech and beleive that the owner of the GL will only get this tech when another AI will have it.
By another hand I do have a great prebuild for the sixteen and I am wondering why I should not sell this tech right now to the GL owner knowing that he will get it later for free.

Would appreciate comments, reason for selling or not selling a tech to the GL owner.

Also, same question will come to me soon regarding Education, answer might be different.

If you dont need the gold then dont. The civ will sell it to the others. Better to wait, but if you need the gold... And if you sell it then sell it to everybody and get more out of it. If you just sell it to one civ, then it is that civ who get all the profit from the others.

Agree with you the Civ will try to sell it to other Civs, however, at least in the game I am currently playing, no other Civ have decent gold to buy it. It seems that only the Civ having the GL can make an offer, that make sense as this Civ does not have to pay for its own research.
At this time of the game, gold is great, not to keep in your bank, much too early, but to use for rushing a few improvments or going faster with your research.

Sell it, if you can make a nice amount of money. The AI is stupid enough to buy, even if it has the GLib. In my current game, I just sold the GLib owner education.

Did you observe, that the GLib owner sells to all other civs? If yes, do it instead. I prefer however giving tech for luxury/resources to civs not being able to pay top gold. It improves your relation, because you upfront. And you get decent value. If you have deals to be renewed soon, it might be advisable to wait a few turns (but not too long).

hmm... if the others are behind, then sell it. The Ai civ sells cheap to eachother but they will not give it for free. You will get some more gold, the GL owner wont get it for free and you will be only two civ with the tech making it valuble enough that the others cant buy it.

About education:

If you dont have the GL then you shall always get education as fast as posible and sell it to the GL owner. In that way you will minimize the advantage the Gl owner gets with the Gl.

I'd sell it only if you're sure you'll be able to build the Sistine Chapel first and not get beaten to it by the civ with the Great Library.

I'd be more concerned with getting Sistine's than making some money on the side.
