I've observed that visibility behavior is slightly changed from before regarding hills, forest/jungles, etc. That is, they may obstruct extended vision.
On the flats (as ainwood demonstrates in his thumbnails), sentry works as anticipated.
Hills and forests/jungle have always obstructed extended vision.
Sentry works as if a unit with vision range 1 is present in all the tiles adjacent to your tile.
Higher tiles offer vision 'over' lower tiles, so you can see the tile on the other side of the lower tile. You can see distant higher tiles when no tile of equal height than your position is blocking your view.
