It is an interesting idea and raises the question of how specific is too specific? The unique units were implemented and I think added something to the mix without really throwing off the scale of the game. Could the devs do the same with unique wonders? That is hard to say. I think I like the idea of Government/Religious/Resource specific wonders instead. It would allow for a more 'what if'(as Turner puts it) scernario. The Iron Works springs to mind.
Its a nice idea that certain wonders ar only allowed by certain nations. Great for a scenario or if you really like the sound of it you could tinker with the game and probably do it yourself. Infact it would be pretty straight forward thinking about it. However as a permenent setting that you hav no say in i would be against it as the point of the gam is not to follow histoy to the letter but make you own civilization and see how the world folds out. We just use known civilizations as its a common gound to wok from.
Great idea of small wonders for particular civ. the game would be more instresting.
like:
Colosseum : roman
taj mahal : india
great wall : china
Berlin wall : germany
statue of liberty : America
pyramind : egypt and Aztecs(well aztecs pyramids look different from those in egypts )
and so...
well how about that ..
Theres plenty of scope for racial specfic wonders and there not tricky to add. Ive lost count of the amount of wonders that i use on the multiplayer games i play. Its gotta be over 100 or at least close.
Actually all those ones you just mentioned apart from the Berlin Wall i use anyway. Not sure what the Berlin wall would do tho so until i can think or someone else thinks of a good idea ill omit that one for now.
Actually I like the idea of attribute specific Small Wonders instead, that would make more sense. eg Militaristic would have something (such as Heroic Epic), Industrious would have another and so on.
East Germany was communist when it was built, and the main effect of police stations is a decrease in war weariness, which doesn't exist in communism, so that would be unrealistic, however since there is no other alternative, your idea is probably the best.
well both the ideas are good but as henry k c told that east germany was communist and war weariness is not of a concern in communism so i dont mind going with wackenopenair's idea.
I disagree with the usefulness of all that, for one, it's far too complex, and I've always liked to play civ on a world map and re-write history, personally.

I once read an interesting example:
John while James had had had had had had had had had had had the better reception
And the task was to put punctuation in this string to make it grammatically correct.
The correct form is,
John, while James had had "had", had had "had had." "Had had" had had the better reception.
It was an example of strange grammar that actually came up in a debate on the use of "had" vs the use of "had had..."
Truth is stranger than fiction...
BTW, I'm in favor of Civ-specific Wonders or SW's. Stick a new strategic resource called "German Nation" and put it on the German Starting point, and make its icon nearly invisible.
i have said many times i don't think the berlin wall should be one i have retracted this many times
I'm sorry if i've offended anyone by putting it there
