Service pack 2?

For whatever reason recently I cant play Civ 5 in Direct X 10 or 11 mode.

This is really weird because the first 26 hours i put into the game, I always played in D X 10 or 11 but now its claiming I dont have service pack 2?

Can anyone tell me what this is about?

Are you now running the game (and/or) steam in Windows compatibility mode? I believe that will cause the symptoms you are describing. If so - right click on the appropriate icon, select properties, then compatibility.

Yeah, at some point the game crashed and Win 7 (Vista has this problem also but *much* more rarely) decided to enforce compatability mode because it thinks that will "fix" it. General Tso has the right solution.

I had this problem out of the blue when i fired up Civ V yesterday. It had been working fine up until then. I have Windows 7 SP1 so I couldn't figure it out. I tried the suggestion above and the problem was with Steam and not the game. I forced Steam to be compatible with Windows 7, restarted my computer and it seems to be fine now. I think it had something to do with an update.
