What difficulty do you usually play? I recently mastered Noble and am trying to earn my stripes at Prince, but I suspect that most of the posters here are playing as Emperors.

Personally I play at monarch with raging barbs, no tech trading, permanent alliances and agressive AI. I find emporer unsatisfying to play because it requires so much micro-managment, so I play monarch, and use the other settings to bump up the difficulty.

Noble most of the times.

I could play higher levels, but I like it when the AI has the same restrictions as myself.

I currently play at Monarch. It's tough, but certainly manageable. I have no interest yet to go up to Emperor except in SG's or maybe GOTM's (when I finally get around to playing one). I don't think most forummers are Emperor-level, my guess is that most play at Prince/Monarch, but that Emperor-players are more 'vocal'

Depends on what I'm up for.
I haven't found emperor too entertaining, but I guess I'll try to make the move later.

A slightly modified Noble. I gave the AI cheaper unit support costs so they have more units.

Noble is the level that I'm currently playing at.

Monarch. It takes some mastery of the new concepts to get to that level... I plateaued at Noble/Prince for quite a while.

It's not always the level. Rome on emperor is easier than some civs on monarch.

I've been alternating between Monarch and Emperor. Playshogi is right about Rome, I gave up an Emperor game last week after taking over half the pangea just with my initial Prat attack. That unit really is a game breaker.

My difficulties depend on which civ I play;

With financial civs I can win (50-50 chance) on monarch (all victory types). I struggle with non-financial civs though. Prince is my "fun, easy-going" empire-builder level.

I play on Monarch and Emperor. Monarch is good too play; it is quite balanced. One can play it without extreme effort et.c, but still it's challenging.

Still Emperor. I can win often, but I'm not feeling I've mastered it. I should learn how to masterplan better and maximize on my cities.

I'm the same, I make monarch harder as I really don't find playing emperor level to be much fun.

Warlords difficulty.

Once trying Noble difficulty, back to Warlords difficulty . I'll try Noble difficulty after current game.

All my latest game have been on prince, but i find it rather hard to win unless i get a very good start. Mostly because im not very fond of micro manageing... In my next game i think i will do a noble game and go for a superior victory.
Am i the only one who misses a difficulity level between noble and prince??
