Wow, Hanny sure put up a fight. His power is going down, though. Should we push on to eliminate him, or consolidate now?
I'm still around, just out of suggestions on how to improve Gandhi's situation. Are we collectively losing interest in this game?
Is this a late april joke?Radical Proposal
We've tried fighting wars, we've tried winning wars, we've tried baiting Gandhi. Still he hasn't moved.
Let's try Losing The War to see if Gandhi dogpiles us. Continue war with Hannibal, maybe even declare on Mehmed. Withdraw all our troops in Vinland, let Hanny/Mehmed capture all our cities, see our power chart plummet. Maybe Gandhi will join in. Don't upgrade any units; maybe even build rifles/cannons, stop one turn before completion and switch to gold/research.
I'm confident that our glorious armies and our mighty navy can stage a succesful invasion against any opponent once Gandhi has committed to action. Meanwhile we'll save a bunch of money on city upkeep so we can continue research, maybe heading towards assembly line in the first instance for berserk infantry.
If we can capture Versailles then that will solve distance maintenance problems for quite a while.
I do actually think my cunning plan has merit. This is not a normal game; the objective is to lose as quickly as possible to Gandhi (but only by space) and that means thinking unconventionally. We can trash every other civ and make sure that no-one builds a spaceship before Gandhi but as long as Gandhi stays holed up he's not going to build a spaceship early.
