SGOTM 07 - Fifth Element

The question of course is if Liz will be able to complete everything in time, or if it'd be better if we helped her. Will research or production be the bottleneck?

Perfect time to stop. We only have Engine, stasis, and 1 casing left (after Liz finishes what she's working on). So, add reserach to the front of our queue (but keep the casing in there for a few more turns) and Liz will have to pick engine or stasis. Let's let her build all three. There's plenty of time before robotics comes in. There's probably even time for her to do lifesupport, but it might be nice if she had some time to make recycling centers or a couple other buildings before dockingbay/robotics.

How about stopping the next TS when Liz has 1 turn left to go on either engine or stasis?

If the workers have run out of things to do, they can convert Liz's marble to a mine for a 2 hammer boost. She'll probably just change it back, but then you mine it again in 1 turn (w/2 workers).

I don't forsee us rushing any parts in our city unless Liz really drops the ball. We can probably windmill that lumbermill for a food/research boost and only 1 hammer lost.

I was pre-workshopping her grasslands, but a mine sounds fine too

Yes, you were doing the right thing, pre-workshopping. I'm just saying now that they may have nothing better to do, mine that marble.

We could think about workshopping one of her farms in the other city.
EDIT: Nah, York is food-stable at base production 25. That's about as good as it gets in that city. Liz is running 3 engineers like a pro.

Looks good, Dutchfire. :goodjob:

Am I really up again already? If no one jumps up to shout me down then I'll prepare a quick plan tonight and play tomorrow morning.

Roster
culdeus - UP
dutchfire - on deck
Sabre - floating until news
Sweetacshon - floating until news
Merum - floating until news
Balthalion
greatbeyond
WastinTime
Blubmuz - resting

Yes, good job Dutch.
Balth can play, possibly to let Culdeus play in his preferred time.
So Balth, go fast with your plan, then play.

The fact is that we're down to only 6 active players, luck we started in 9.

Sorry Culdeus, I forgot you could play on Saturday. I'm flexible and can either wait or try to burn out a quick Saturday morning turnset. Which do you prefer? I'll post a plan tonight if I don't hear anything from you first.

As long as I don't actually launch the spaceship I'm fine with whatever. I can't let my streak be broken. I want to be playing CIV26 someday and still never have actually launched one.

Was that a little tongue-in-cheek humour?

The Current plan seems a winner. IIRC the GE can't hurry a SS part. Why not gift him to Liz so she can complete the 3G and get back to SS parts?

3gd requires plastics and the AI has had it for a long time. If Liz starts the 3gd, then that would be a good idea, but we're thinking 3gd will be done and then they'll trade us plastics. So the GE will most likely be bulbing robotics.

You take the save Culdeus. I shouldn't have jumped the gun, and it would probably be better if we allow at least a little time for feedback from the team rather than risk rushing things too much. I can play Sunday or early next week. Wouldn't want to risk you having to launch that ship. ;)

I was a fan of the 3GD, but seeing that Liz already has power plants in London and York and not even a forge in the "icy city" (Nottingham?) they're totally useless.
In addition, a GE can help for only an half of that wonder.
Best use is to LB a part of robotics, it would be stupid settle him now.

:hmm: Nottingham built a factory and started a coal plant during my TC, if I remember completely, so I suppose it has a forge already.

Ok came to a stopping point. Horrifically boring TS. Though one thing came up and wasn't prepared for. Cathy who has 5/5 3/3 0 0 0 0 0 on the parts vs. us with 4/5 (1 turn from 5/5) 3/3 0(4turns) 1 000 wants ecology and cash for whats left of plastics. We have a GE that can shave 1 turn off of it leaving us 4 to go. I guess it's a question of whether we can out tech and out build cathy? She has the 3GD.

Fought liz' workers over the mine NO quarry NO MINE NO! QUARRY slapfight. Other than that was an enter fest.

No question we want free plastics. That's going to shave off many turns! She can't possibly build faster than us. 3gd doesn't do anything regular power doesn't do.

I haven't been able to check in for a few days, but I'm still impressed with the progress and love the turn and tech pace. I'm not sure I can add anything, as it's a straight road home from here, but it is nice to have the sport of "miney-quarry" to keep us amused during the enter-fest. :)

Oh yeah, in order to get the GE to bulb towards robotics you will have to get facism first. Got it with a bunch of cash for refrig from saladin IIRC. What I didn't understand is why we didn't have that tech yet.
