First I sent the scout a wee bit to the south west where he discovered fish and what turns out to be a choke point. He then headed to remove fog in the North West. Unfortunately, before he could complete his task he was killed by a panther even though he was in jungle. I don't think I have had that happen to me on the very first animal attack before, especially a panther.
Build wise i went warrior, wb, then settler. Growth to size three occured exactly same time as wb completes and the turn before BW is discovered.
Worker moves were mine gold, mine grass hill and then move to riverside grass to chop exactly in time for bw to be discovered.
Food+hammers is 10 hammers for a settler i.e settler in 10.
A chop i believe is 20 hammers and a whip is 30 so if we revolt and do both we can get a settler in 6 (i can't remember how many worker turns for a chop) but i think that's about how long it will take. We will have overflow of about 11 hammers for next build. One of the turns for the settler is complete.
I played till BW was discovered so we can decide next tech. Worker still hasn't moved to chop site but has completed mine.
See third pic to see the research options and if you take a peak at the grassland hill all mined and ready to go you'll get a pleasant surprise.
I think wheel next for obvious reasons and should complete just before the chop completes for the settler giving the worker something to do.
Where to put the settler? do we block the choke right away and give ourselves some space?
Also I didn't revolt yet.
