Alright!!!

You redeemed yourself from the russian SG!

Well done, all us.

Now, let's go spy!!!

it's not exactly spy is information.

Please remember: do not post in threads by teams still playing, they can have some advantage.

Well done everyone. We should be competitive this time around. Pity about the early Shaka DoW,and maybe some inefficient spending in the mid-game, but I think we did well.

Right, I'm off to read One Short Straw. They have an amazing culture graph!! I'm guessing they tried to build them all! CRC is looking as dangerous as ever, good score and culture graphs, and their power is almost flat, indicating to me they are chewing thru some units... or turtling and building..anyway we'll see.

Well done, everyone :goodjob:

Go and see how the others are doing, but please don't post in their threads until they have finished or abandoned the game.

Quick question Sweet:

Did you found Aluminum Corp? I don't see it in the notes.

Nevermind. Just found it.

Great job everyone :goodjob:

Nice job team. Thanks for invting me along for the ride.

edit: are we allowed to discuss findings from other teams in our own thread?

I decided to download the other teams' saves, to better see their situation.

our situation: 285 wonders on turn 265 1.07547

I was right: RMB abandoned the game in 375 BC. They was in decent shape, used the Oracle for CoL and was at war with Shaka. Probably they has personal problems.

Good shape:
Xteam in 1460 AD - they have MM, a lot of wonders, all vassallized, war with AC and his vassal, Pericles.
They do not have rifling nor corporations, but MT and i suppose there's no hope for AC, with his bunch of wonders.
They can arrive to some 220 by turn 218. roughly 1

OSS: artillery in 1630, and only 3 wonders owned by Rome. They have good chances.

Murky Waters: MM in 1420!!! all opponents alive but Shaka, lots of wonders built by G. but the Mahabody and GW to HRE and Celtia, like in our game.
Great game, we'll see.

CRC: conbustion in 1575, turn 225. They own or are building all the wonders, already vassallized all but Pericles, eliminated Shaka. All the Shrines, too. Not a single Corp, but 5 Gmen ready.
They can win in few turns, say 330 and beat us. Damn Russians.

Too soon to say something, but not easy they can beat us.
U.S.: in 1430 research rifling, not so advanced compared to their opponents (shaka gone).

Smurkz: research steel in 1400, Astro in, but they don't even have PP. The Oracle is in Rome, lots of wonders in the other continent.

Gipsy Kings: Astro in 1130, Shaka gone, really too soon.

Bad shape:
Wonder Bumpkins: in 1816 they're second last in score, all opponents alive, AC is leader with infantries and lots of wonders and corps. No hope.

Trash Team: in 1832 research medicine, all their opponents alive but Shaka, lot of wonders not owned. No hope.

Geezers: 1943, all the wonders owned, at war with the world, anyway it's turn 363. No hope.

Chokonuts: AL in 1816, a disaster.

Misfits: combustion in 1640, lots of wonders in other continent, not easy they can beat us.

Conclusion: a medal is possible, sure not gold, it will go to CRC.

Nice job team. Thanks for invting me along for the ride.

edit: are we allowed to discuss findings from other teams in our own thread?
You're welcome, i hope you will stay for next one too.

We can discuss anything, see above... :)

But better not post in other team's threads, see also Alan's recommendation.

Dammit, all that work to analyze the saves and now:
Congrats with the silver laurels :goodjob:

It was a very exciting finish because we (XTeam) had already finished with a score of 1.2617 - only 0.0047 worse than your score of 1.2664 :crazyeye:

We are pretty sure that Murky will beat your score of 1.2664 and it also looks like no other team will come close to 1.26 so it's silver for you and bronze for us.

We didn't know about the strategy of going for Assembly Line and factories in order to build science. Is this a standard Space game strategy in BtS?
Found on CRC's thread. CRC made 290 Wonders at turn 229. But i doubt Murky will do better than those 2, probably better than us. Goodbye medal. damn russians. and damn RNG. Why Shaka DoWed us and no other teams?

Congrats Fifth Element!

We lost Scout at the first turns (can't choose strategy right) and had bad event on the very important stage of building Oracle. Look at Murky - it looks like they got Astro from the hut!

Thank you Dynamic, congrats to you (and your damn er... nice team) too!
We has a good start, but unfortunately Shaka dowed us too soon, so our mid-game was ruined.

Not so soon, anyway.
I'm trying some games and he dowed us even sooner. If this happened in the official game, we probably were reporting a loss.

And, yes i've seen Murky's thread: Erkon popped Astro from a hut!
It happened to me too in a GotM, long long time ago.

Sorry to bail. Been following along the progress some without much to add.

Two GOTMS in a row where a bad DOW by the AI put this team in a bad spot relative to others. I guess in retrospect there was really no way to win once all those turns were lost.

I thought that a ratio >1 was good, but not enough.

Anyway, yesterday night i've tried some turns and Shaka DoWed me 1 turn after the CS sling with 2 axes and 3 impis, when i had 2 warriors total... game over, abandoned.

Well, that happened quickly... Not bad at all guys! We're getting more competitive, and I learned quite a bit this time around. Well done!

Lot of us disappeared.

Anyway, just to report this:
I've made an attempt from the 4000BC save, and i lost the Oracle rush.
Then, i started from the save right after we built the Oracle, and Shaka always DoWed me even sooner than in the official game.
A couple times i've lost Eng for some turn, once i managed to defeat the invaders and once Shaka also bribed Joao against me.

So, we was lucky compared to those attempts, but i cannot understand why we was the only team victim of the Zulu madness.

I don't think you were. We declared on Shaka on turn 39 and stole a worker. Our strategy was to keep him from hooking up copper and horses and forcing his workers to stay within Ulundi to stunt his development until we could finish him. :hammer:

Had we not declared, I'm quite sure he would have attacked us as well. :crazyeye:

Hopefully we'll be ending this SGOTM soon and starting a new one. As soon as it's announced, I'll make tests for SGOTM 9.

We actually decleared shaka ourselves, but we messed up choking him, otherwise it would have been fine... Astro from a hut is indeed lucky but it is not like they were all that close to #2 so they would probably have won anways...
