Build stuff, notably the FP in Ulundi.

Drop research to 30%. Optics will still be finished in four turns and it'll give us some cash for upgrading caravels. Go for edu next and bulb with the GS.

I'll renogotiate the copper-wine deal with Joao to include his spare nine gpt. Also, he'll finish guilds in three, maybe trade paper and optics for guilds and possibly calendar?
 
Domestic

The Forbidden Palace was built in Ulundi, giving our finances a nice boost. We're now researching at 50% with a surplus. Otherwise there wasn't anything exciting. I did build a new city, in the filler spot NE of Trash House.

Try to prioritize barays. The +1 food is nothing to scoff at. On the subject of food, windmills should perhaps be built in Wotnomarble and the sheep/deer city down south, as we can't mine all the hills if we wnat those cities to grow.

With the discovery of optics I realized that galleys don't upgrade to caravels. No biggie, as TH built two of them in two turns. Education was up next and didn't take long thanks to the GS. Liberalism was researched by a then unknown civ in 1340. We're currently going for astronomy, as it should make good trade fodder and will enable intercontinental trade.

Foreign

The barb city with whales was captured for no losses. The next guy should ship a worker or two over there.

Stealing tech from Joao turned out to be a bit pricey, so I just made this trade. I also renegotiated the copper deal.

We've got a spy in Faro, though, in case we want to try stealing e.g. guilds. Although I'd rather keep the visibilty into Portugal.

So our caravels sailed out to meet the world, but the world found us first. Gandhi (you guessed it, the wonderhog) came to say hi, and we traded world maps. A few turns later we won the circumnavigation bonus. :cool:

Besides Gandhi, we've met Charlemagne and Pericles, who is the vassal of the former. Pericles and G-man are in free religion, so one of them got to lib first.

To end on a high note, Delhi is on the coast, so one amphibious assault will score us half a dozen wonders. :mischief:

Well, that sounds easy enough. So what shall we do after lunch? :lol:

Time to get some uni's up and crack on with Oxford. Have to go in Trash or Cottage since Undis full. Would be good to be able to build some decent units, Rome or Charley could well come calling post astro, esp if we are weak.

Longer term, are we heading for a Conquest / Domination win?

Or do we take Bombay and Dehli and go for an early win?
 
Good round Stuge! Taking Bombay and Dehli would get an early win but how many wonders are left after that? We have to get our power ranking back up so we don't get dog piled.

One thing I forgot to put in the report: The GG's still around. Trash House will soon have all possible buildings, so settling him there is probably the best bet.

No new cities settled, spread the whip liberally, unis are built, Oxford is open. Stone is 1 turn away. Popped a GS, i bulbed for PP. We have many towns and villages. Astro is in. Have started Sci Meth, apologies, i played 11 turns. Found i had not ticked "Wait at End of Turn" in options.

Might be an idea to delay Sci Meth as we have the GLib?

We met Bodicia, -4 for trading with Gand. Then Roman, Julius i think.

I've marked up most of the wonders.

Got it.

Had a look. Lots to take in. There are a lot of tech trades available. Quite a few resource trades as well. Need to think about our tech path. Also need to think about National Wonders.
