SGOTM 08 - Trash Team

Protect Trash House at all costs, keep building troops until we have enough to push him back into the sea. See if Joao will DOW him. Take peace ASAP, keep with the plan.

that's why I paused, to get some input. Should we trade with Joao? Getting Democracy for US could help, also should I upgrade those caravels in the stack to frigates?

Do what is needed!

Get Joao involved, trade if necessary and upgrade old units to protection.

As a general note, we should find units wioth 3-4 promotions in the south and replace them with basic defenders so our promoted units can be upgraded to grenadiers.
If possible try to get a level 6 units in the process so we can build west point.

I finished 11t so a GA is next. Just built a few more units, upgraded caravels to frigates, finished off Charlie's navy. Techs MT>Corp>Rifle>Bio(start) Joao demanded MT, gave it. (I'm not great a diplo, war yes) We did get a GG which is asleep in TH, I also moved the GSpy to TH so he wouldn't get attacked

Had a chance to look at the save.

East End needs to be recaptured, our only source of Oil. 2 Elephants in ex Shaka land, upgrade to Cav and head to TH, 4 cavs and 5 cannons should so the trick and retake our city.

The only way to discourgage Charlie is to get more power, hopefully we can buy him off for 50 turns, untill we are ready to deal with him properly.

GG to Samatin/LotsMarble/Reindeer for a Mil Adc or even Unlindi.

now we have rifiles, time for the draft? Mass produce cannons, few more galleons and SoLine. 25 turns we can have a nice army ready for sailing. We will need to draft from our low hammer cities i suspect.

Sounds good!

Have a look around other cities to spot highly promoted units and replace by musketeers.

Drafting and military production is the way to go in the next turns.

You can start a GA to finish off our priests and do a triple civic switch on the last turn of the GA.

I'll pick up the save tomorrow, unless ese or Stuge appear, if there are no objections? Might as well keep the game ticking along.

I don't have time tomorrow so go ahead and play, your plan sounds good.

Army is built.

I have mapped a route to Ghandi and beyond :)

After the recapture of East End, 0 losses. i popped the GSpy for a GA, ran free market, nationhood. Kept Pasc for the GP, one is in HBC the other is 1 turn i think.

Many trades, have Bio monoloply and are up a few techs on the AI. August is well ahead of us, just got fisson.

Arty is 1 turn, i suggest 0% slider for 3 turns then upgrade the 22 cannons in TH, there are
25 rifles,
5 Greds,
5 Cav
and a few units for upgrade. There should be enough room on the boats. if not there are 3 galleons incoming.

i suggest Ghandi first as he has the most wonders, perhaps we should take a quick capulation and scrafice a shrine. We need to strike Charles and alex quickly. August will make space / nukes quickly.

Refused relgion change

Civ4ScreenShot0059.jpg

Made this deal.

Civ4ScreenShot0060.jpg

We are trading our only wheat and deer to Ghandi for Dye and Sugar, needed it to get the drafts in, may need slight adjustment of the hapiness slider when DoW Ghandi.

Civ4ScreenShot0061.jpg

Though hard over this, but we can now run State Prop.

Civ4ScreenShot0062.jpg

The buffon settled for 62 gold. So we have a 10 turn peace.

Health issues will sort themseleves out when we declare on Ghandi, better to have bad health than happiness. Anyhow, it's troops, troops, troops no time for grocers, our key cities should already have them and i don't think other cities will will leverage them enough.

Excellent stuff! Ready to strike I would say....

I dont think we should build grocers, only units and National Wonders.

With regard to NWs we can already build the National Park. We wont have much benefits, so anywhere is fine. For Wall street (HBC is ideal) we need two more banks. I suggest to slip those in.

Once we get a level 6 unit we should also build West Point. With Medicine we can build Red Cross. And with a few more great people we could build some Corporations perhaps.

We could use the GG in Trash House for a supermedic, i wanted to make an Acd in Samritan, but held off. Upgrade a medic 1 horse unit, build one out of Trash House, as it has a settled GG/Stable/Barracks.

West Point could go in Samrtian and the later GG from the Ghandi war can make an Acad. maybe even add in RCross later.

Also for the next round there is an Airship in a Roman border city, use the recon mission to spy on Ghandi lands, get a full picture of his strenght.

Ese-ash is still AWOL, so I've got it. I'll make a plan tonight.

I don't have time for writing a full-fledged PPP, so here's the abriged version.

Haul our army over the sea and go for Gandhi's throat.

Agreed?

no news is good news!!

I'd be inclined to vassel Gandhi, after taking 3 or so cities. If we do take a quick capit then we will lose the shrine on the island, personally i'd write it off and take him as a vassal, there are bigger and better prizes which provide more bang for the buck. It may be a trade off for a quicker finish.

Sorry for the delay, CFC was down yesterday when I had time for the report.

Anyway, here's what the next guy should know.

Civ4ScreenShot0003.jpg

Task Force South.

Civ4ScreenShot0004.jpg

Task Force North, still assembling. This should be our future rally point.

Besides these, eight airships have been deployed to the Indian-Roman border. See if Augustus is willing to stop trading with Gandhi. If he isn't, the eastern fleet will have to be rebased.

Speaking of Augustus, he got combustion, so we should prepare a raiding force for this island.

Civ4ScreenShot0002.jpg

We got our second GP, he's sleeping in Ulundi. I'd capture the Holy Island of Islam before vassalising Gandhi, we have no shortage of troops.

Research is on assembly line. Factories+infantry+artillery is the winning combination, methinks. Combustion is a good next goal.

SAVE

And now a personal note. I'll be skiing in Lapland till Sunday. On Monday I'll begin my year-long service in the Finnish army. So it'll be several weeks before I can participate again and I have a feeling the game will be finished before then. Good luck. :)
