Looks like you're almost ready to declare, leif, but I'd suggest a couple of adjustments:

Take our healthy units, including those in Vijay and move them 2SW (rather than 1SW, as they are visible to Augustus where I originally proposed them to be placed), then move the two wounded CB2 cuirs east as a sacrifice, leaving 6 wounded cuirs and 4 airships in Vijay.

BTW, in looking at the save, one approach -- should Augustus not move his stack at all or put it in Cumae -- would be to send some units (just enough to take Ravenna) north onto the jungle tile 2S of Ravenna and move the bulk of our units (except for the minimum needed to protect Vijay from HAs and chariots) onto the plains forest 1N of Vijay once the SOD does move to Cumae. I believe Augustus will move his stack in response to that threat, either to a location 1NE of Vijay or (presuming he will use roads) 1SE of Ravenna. In anticipation of this eventuality, suggest we slightly undermine our subterfuge by pre-positioning two cannons this turn (after declaring war, of course) on the windmill plains hill NW of Vijay, so they could join a group marching on Ravenna.

If Augustus positions his stack three tiles from Vijay, we may want to abandon Vijay, but it's much more likely that the AI will move foolishly if we are patient.
 
Looks like we are in good shape. Remember to go through the cities and do some MM'ing. Prague has just come out of anarchy and need some attention.

Delhi is undefended and may soon be reachable by Roman chariots and horse archers from within Roman territory because there has been no culture expansion in the captured Indian cities. Maybe we should put a defender there. Anyway it's important to keep an eye on any Roman 2-move unit that advances towards Vijay because they can also reach Delhi from there!

If Satricum is well defended (more than 2 units?) we should consider skipping it in favor of building a settler instead.

Because we are his master. Open borders would allow him to move units in our territory and give trade routes I guess. So yes.

The GG will share its 20 XPs (as equally as possible) with all units sharing the tile with the units to which the GG is joined. You should be able to get promos for several damaged units.

OK, that is what I planned on. Perhaps, if the opportunity presents itself, I can set aside a small stack of those units we wish to promote?

I moved several Workers near Aachen to build a mine to increase Wealth output.
Other than that, I have not moved any military units because we have several choices to make.
Ravenna is relatively weakly defended and it is within range of Delhi&#8217;s Airships. While we are assaulting Cumae, we could grab Ravenna to cut down on the cultural obstructions we will face trying to get to Rome?

After Action Report:
We got a Great Merchant and there are two sitting in X-ville.

We currently have 1066 Gold and are losing 110 per turn at 100% research. We have enough to get the last 6-turns or so to victory. As we take Roman cities, we&#8217;ll have even more. Medicine is now due in 3-turns.

Builds are on schedule. UN is awaiting one more turn to completion in Horseville.

There is a Galleon next to Pharsalos that has been watch for any naval activity by Pericles. None has been noted. This Galleon can be moved back into the chain and that makes one available near X-ville to carry Settlers to the islands north.

Augustus has been accommodating and sent many of his units south to Cumae. To check on the status of Antium, an Airship flown over Rome will show Antium. Last turn showed three units; CBT1/Shock Praet, a CBT1 Pike and a Woodsman1 Axe.

Well done, leif. Militarily, you've left SCT with only mop-up duty. But, just for the record, did you break your promise and fail to pillage the hamlet 1E of Vijay when you moved the two cuirs there?

Unless there's reason to want early Conquest as an option, no need to spend time and effort discussing options for attacking Rome, Antium, and Greek cities. SCT can just bull his way through.

Looks to me as though they went for a cultural victory? Will be interesting to see how many wonders they built. :crazyeye:

btw, nice call on the movement of the stack. They went just where you predicted... Reminded me of Pickett's Charge. :mischief:
 
Ravenna is relatively weakly defended and it is within range of Delhi’s Airships. While we are assaulting Cumae, we could grab Ravenna to cut down on the cultural obstructions we will face trying to get to Rome?

It looks like we should have good odds to take Ravenna this turn. If we did, we'd probably want to raze it so that we don't have to guard it. Or we could let our western stack stop by on its way to Rome and do the job. On the other hand, we might not really need the extra cash, so maybe it's better to just focus on the three cities with wonders right now.

After Action Report:
We got a Great Merchant and there are two sitting in X-ville.

So that seals it. We want Medicine, Corp, and Refrig.

We currently have 1066 Gold and are losing 110 per turn at 100% research. We have enough to get the last 6-turns or so to victory. As we take Roman cities, we’ll have even more. Medicine is now due in 3-turns.

It's possible to assign enough cities to build research so that we could get Medicine in 2 turns. I think this would be advisable so that we can get hospitals built earlier.

Builds are on schedule. UN is awaiting one more turn to completion in Horseville.

I'll have to check build times on everything, but it looks like we can probably pull the trigger on the UN and finish it. We have the teching ability to get Med/Corp/Refrig in 7 turns. If we can get Red Cross and Wall Street done in 8 turns, we can shoot for a 214 victory.

There is a Galleon next to Pharsalos that has been watch for any naval activity by Pericles. None has been noted. This Galleon can be moved back into the chain and that makes one available near X-ville to carry Settlers to the islands north.

A quick check on Blessed Seas: We have cities on 6 landmasses. One settler is headed for the island west of Guimaraes. Settlers are being built in Canalville and X-ville. So we need one more.

I'm sure Ulundi could pop one real quick, in one turn, and then we could pay to rush Hollywood with the Gold from taking Roman cities or pop rush it?

Judging by the score and power graphs, I don't see how CRC or OSS could beat us. Gypsy looks good in score but their power graph isn't doing anything. I hope it's not premature to say that we have at least the silver.

What do you make of One Short Straw's culture graph?

It's not big enough to indicate a culture victory, since those require 50000 culture in 3 cities. OSS is finished because I've seen several of their players checking out other threads. My guess is they turned up the culture slider in the last few turns to complete a domination. Also, Eiffel Tower gives a broadcast tower in every cities, which gives +50% culture.

Ivoryville could also do a settler in one turn. We should be able to give up Ivory's overflow gold for one turn.

It's counted immediately upon city capture.

Before we can plan this we need AlanH to confirm that wonders built in the IBT before the turn where victory is declared count. He never responded to that.

Are there any reasons to doubt that we can get the Diplomatic victory? Is Augustus the only possible opponent? And are our vassals forced to vote for us?

Yes, leif forgot to start a settler in Coimbra as indicated in the build plan. No big deal - we can build him in Ivoryville instead.
