SGOTM 09 - Smurkz

Actually, I'm fine with option one (move settler -> revolt -> end turn -> move scout -> screenshot). In my eyes, it's a choice between that and option three (move settler -> revolt -> end turn -> move scout -> settle city -> screenshot).

I'm fine with either, but I agree that moving the scout could be helpful.

I'd say move the scout, but if nothing surprising is found, go ahead and settle. Then we'll be able to see all the BFC tiles and make better plans.

Revolt done (Thanks Renata !!!). Settler/Scout moved:

Looks like we lose 5 forests, get 2 back, gain 6 river/levee squares, plus misc.

Nice to see sheep. I guess we're committed to settling? Then start the scout's movement on the sheep so we can see if there's anything other than rocks and ice up there, and then probably head SW from there?

That's after the scout moved; it was 1NE of there after last turn.

Ok Smurkaki is settled !! Rejoice !

Here is a screen of the area (I do have some concerns here...)

Well, that is certainly interesting.

Please share your concerns. The iceberg to our SE caught my eye. Is this the ice planet Hoth? Nice to get that extra grass hill to the south.

I had the same concerns as you had...
Either we are really up north, or... heavy editing...

On IM, someone said map is "toroidal." It's not - instead, it is cylindrical. I wonder if we'll have to build a coastal city up north to get a workboat to the fish. I also wonder if it's worth it, since we have environmentalism.

Why am I not getting notifications from this thread?

Anyway, that was me about the toroidal, not sure what game I was thinking of. Cylindrical, then.

Ooh, what if we're blocked in by ice and the only way to get anywhere is with airports? That'd be different.

The thread notification tool on the CivFanatics forums have never worked properly for me. My subscriptions get deleted at random, sometimes I get notifications, sometimes I don't. I gave up trying to figure it out years ago. Resubscribing often helps.
