I've saved it too. Not sure when I'll get to it, but I will eventually.
Thanks, leif.
Thanks, leif.
Good luck Xteam - I'll be lurking and cheering for my former team.

Yes, I think Firaxis has some work to do on it yet. It is quite different and finding the info I think we're used to seeing readily in Civ4 seems harder to me. I expect there will be a patches forthcoming, much as there were with Civ4. Let's hope.Have you tried playing Civ5? I bought the game a few days ago and I must say that I can't recommend it to anyone.
Do you think it is possible from where we are now, from turn 52?Did one quick test with the latest test save from leif
AI built Oracle at T122 - 175AD, we could have done it (CS-sling) no later than T94 - 550BC, researching all techs, no trading.
Do you think it is possible from where we are now, from turn 52?
Sounds promising.![]()
You need Math for the CS sling so it's no detour. This sounds good. The Oracle seems worth the risk. Do we need to do more testing? Should we detour to Math to get peace and be able to make up some of those beakers by trading with G for religious tech(s) leading to the Oracle?
Good point!Getting back to a turn plan: Would ask Z to look carefully at worker moves. Hate wasting a forest, but not sure that chopping the forest before settling (as Hawk suggests) is worth waiting two turns, if during those two turns we could be using the second city to work a mined gold hill while building another worker.
Yes, and not chopping the forest also allows a road to be built between the two cities faster, which will add an additional 2gpt.You need Math for the CS sling so it's no detour.
Sorry, I'm not used to playing BTS. Math our next tech then to get both peace (and techs) and max from chops?
Good point!
I think the second gold mine could be done exactly the same turns as we found our 2nd city.
We don't need the road now, the trade route will be established as soon as the border pops.Yes, and not chopping the forest also allows a road to be built between the two cities faster, which will add an additional 2gpt.

Player Comment Gandhi still won't go for Peace, War Weariness down to 3.
Just loaded the save and tried "Let's bury the hatchet. What is the price for peace?" and he answers that "There's no way such a deal is possible." Doesn't look like he'll budge?@Griff: Did you try and offer Ghandi AH + Bronze for peace? I don't think I can do the offer without actually playing the game, if he accepts I can't undo it.![]()
Yes, I did try offering those techs, and Gandhi would not agree to Peace....
