SGOTM 15 - Xteam

No surprise with lack of Horses with Humura around. We may have to do a cat archer first war. I have done it with good success recently against Hamurabi.

I think once we have all the needed techs for Oracle and If we do not find copper, we may have to tech Archery.

I am still in favor of 1E.
 
Agree with 1E.

Not sure how many Workers we have on the build schedule? If we want Oracle in Gold City, we're going to need to get that place up and running quickly by developing Sheep and get some hills mined, along with roads connecting resources.

Do we need Archery earlier to defend against Toku coming to visit? If Toku has no room to the east, he'll be coming to claim some room for himself. Wonder if he'll have Copper? Please keep an eye out for either of them changing to Slavery.

I would probably take the warrior near hammuragawa back to the chokepoint near the peak to fogbust. In my test games there was a barb city spawning there which would suck imo.

That's all i can think of right now.
 
I played 15 Turns, so should i stop after the next tech, next two or a specific turn?

BW? We lose two commerce and one hammer and gain one food by mining the river hill instead of marble. Still both are 4 yield tiles. We might find copper.

Mas? Stick with the plan, Toku stayed peaceful in zamint's tests.

TW? Establish road connections and instant hook up of copper if we manage to find some.

2. Part:

I'm torn to be honest. BW or Mas. Your opinions please ;)

Dehli: Warrior 4 finish -> Worker

Bombay: start Warrior 5

Worker 1: Sheep -> start Gold

East Warrior: Tries to catch more of Tokus Cap by going to the South. Then bombay defender.

North Warrior: Back to choke and try to prevent Barb cities from spawning

Warrior 4: Fogbust Pig/Gems site or a exposed copper site (if BW is teched next)

It is 14 turns to BW. Unless someone knows the answer, perhaps we should test how long it would take once Gold is online?

Indeed, the northern one for 11 turns, enough time to have it mined and connected if he has it in his bfc. Thankfully, it is a long march south.

Our eastern friend has had it for 3 turns. We may have 10 turns before he starts showing Axes if he has copper?

Once we settle Bombay, we'll take a nice diplo hit for close borders. That, along with our low power, since we have not discovered BW, could bring a nasty situation?

Than IW and construction. Archer as stack defense against Aggro axes. Fun times. :crazyeye:

Would be really funny (or not) if neilmeister just took away all the strat resources and puts it on the island in the west.

Not yet. He is still in the growing and expantion phase and will be for a while. With gold and soon gems on line, we are going to get the techs at an accelerated rate. If we are concerned about it, then it is Archery that will help us not copper. I am not very sure even copper is available to us. Archary is and that was one of the reasons I did not challenge the Hunting route.

Do not agree with Masonry next. Think we should get BW ASAP.

We only have one worker (and should start another as soon as we get to pop 4). Until that worker is built and completes farming the food plain, not sure we need Masonry.

Concur with Htadus that Toku will probably not DOW right away, but we need to be able to chop and whip (to get next settler out and to be better able to deal with a DOW), plus hook any copper that is available.

BTW, still need to free trade route along our NW coast by de-fogging the coastal tile 1W of the mountain.
 
Ok I screwed up and we have a serious problem.

I misread/misinterpreted what leif wrote with the "seems like according to plan" after htadus' post which had the original order of techs from hawk's attachment and finished my turnset through completion of the tech masonry (another 8 turns). So i've destroyed the discussion before more people could share their opinions because of my dumbness. I'd like to apologize to everybody on the team and especially to CP and also to Leif, because i thought he was pro-masonry although he wasn't. I won't let it happen again.

Just for clarification: I started after leif wrote the post that started with "OK, then" and before CP voiced his concerns about masonry first. I looked at the thread again after Leif's answer to that post.
 
Not to worry, it is my fault. I shouldn't have written it like I did.

I assume you completed through Masonry? If so, please post what you have and we'll go from there.
 
Summary:

Mostly good news right now:

1. Settled Bombay, which already works the improved sheep and get the gold online in a couple turns. We have one warrior on the sheep to fogbust the one tile a barb could spawn. After a border pop he can start his MP-duty in Bombay. The other warrior in the area could either procede to the forested hill near the fish to fogbust the tile, walk near tokus border to get a bit of recon on toku or become a MP-unit also.

2. Thanks to the healing scout of Hammy we managed to fogbust Pig/Gems without any barbs wandering around our spot. Our warrior there is very safe on the gems tile.

3. Started on the quarry on marble with our new worker.

4. We got a free forest south of the marble.

5. If everthing goes right, we have the nothern land up to the chokepoint fogbusted in max. 5 turns. One warrior just left the cap to head towards the Gold, the other one comes back from the north to get rid of the undiscovered tile near the peak and then fogbust too. Hammy did settle a city in an unknown location one turn after Bombay.

Diplowise the two Tokus are at +3 with each other now. No change towards us yet.

Only known barb activity is a lion roaming around near the gold.

Saved at the end of the turn, with wheel selected and screenshots made. So MP can start right away after making himself familiar with the situation.
