Maybe building a road is the best move. If the worker finishes that road next turn while spawn busting, we'll be able to get back to that forest and chop without wasting a full turn to movement later.

And you save a turn moving to the cows.
 
(Looked at map) Right, so the road is needed for all of the above and the chariot coming and our units later. Build it. I even thought about it earlier, because it saves that turn to the cows.
 
OK. Partial road it is. Let's see what Fred does IBT. Hamburg has 22H into a build so let's hope it's not an archer... (sab prod = 170, city revolt = 838, my math is right, right?)

EDIT: Hamburg can get at most 2H/turn. How many hammers does a Monarch AI pay for an archer?
 
If Fred's warrior moves away from the sheep tile, then definitely steal teh worker because we can CF in 3t, before the warrior can get to CEB, or is it CWB. or is it CNB?
 
Fred moved his warrior 1W and is now 4 moves away from CEB. The sheep pasture is now done. It's now or never. What happens if Fred threatens CEB and we don't threaten Hamburg?

Hamburg now has 29H into something so it must be a worker or settler, right? (sab prod = 227, city revolt = 851).
 
Willingness to talk has nothing to do with threatening. He'll talk in 3t if we don't lose a battle. If we do, we'll have to grow to pop2 and whip a warrior or something.

xpost: Hamburg is almost surely building a granary. Maybe he'll whip it.

Plus, this isn't Aggressive AI so threatening cities isn't a factor in willingness to CF, as far as I know. Our power is high enough forhim to CF, iiuc. Steal the worker!!!
 
Watch Fred's copper tile every turn. We'll see it when the road is 1t to completion. There's still hope our chariot can pillage it before he builds a spear.
 
In order for CEB to grow in time, it will have to steal the deer from Paris... Should we do that as insurance? It will slightly mess up the MM in Paris but I can rework it if it makes sense.
I'd do that, yes. I would have probably done it anyway. Our cities MM should find some happy medium. We want all cities to contribute to capturing Alexandria if possible.
 
Stealing deer from Paris won't work. It will take 4 turns for CEB to grow even with the deer.
I'd still do it, the warrior might not beeline CEB. Anyway, we'll be able to CF, so MM as you think appropriate.

Or play it safely and steal the deer. That's what I'd do. You can't lose that way.
 
I'm going to stop here until there are enough opinions stating that we'll be able to CF with Fred if he sees an unprotected city right in front of him 3 turns from now. +1 worker is not worth having CEB razed.

It's possible that Fred will send his warrior toward home to protect himself but I doubt it.

The most efficient way is to let Paris keep it so that we get the StoneCity settler out on time. Getting StoneCity set up quickly is more important that CEB getting a few extra food... as long as the CF is a sure thing.

The warrior could be at the gates of CEB in 3 turns. You're sure the CF will be an option at that point? It sounds like it but just checking. :mischief:

One last word of caution. If there is an archer in the fog at Hamburg-2S, we could lose the warrior, the worker and CEB. I'm not sure how likely that is but it's possible.

BTW, Fred threatens with an axeman. So this is likely the last worker we could steal from him for quite some time...

There you go again. Think positively. Our chariot will shred that axe. If/when he upgrades the warrior in Hamburg, we still have an easy target there.

I'm trying to figure out the impact in Paris if we give the deer to CEB as insurance (i.e. in case the warrior doesn't beeline it).

If on T51 we have +8F instead of +11F, how much food will we have on T52? I want to know if it delays the StoneCity settler at all... EDIT: I think it will be 16 but I'm just checking.
