Shouldn't our stack in Japan be attacking Tokyo first?
We have reinforcements coming expecting Tokyo to be a bit tougher hence the quick strike on Kyoto.

On Conquest VC, what are our chances of getting some of these civs to capitulate? Japan, England? France will now?
Or do we want to eliminate them?
We want to eliminate them due to the quirks of the scoring system, we vassalised Roosevelt to avoid having to do an overseas invasion.

Toku & DG will fall in the next 6 turns. Toku has a 3rd city west of Tokyo so it will take a little longer but clearly less than 16 turns. DG should be done in about 6 turns.

Caesar & Bismark will not be difficult. Munich will require some firepower since it has longbows in a hill city. Caesars last city can easily be captured. I'd suggest to take the units in NY and march them west to deal with him

Also we dont want the GSpy stranded in England when he should infiltrate Munich to prepare the espionage culture mission. But we do need to send units ahead of the main force to enable bombing missions. I believe a unit on the mainland hill facing London can defog the city and enable bomber attacks.

I think you are right. I was judging from the culture expanding further west but this could be due to Tokyo having expanded borders two times. During war time you can't trust the number of cities listed in the box in the lower right corner. Let's hope he only has 3 cities.
 
Ideas for the next few turns:

  • Trade Banking + 10g for Philo and Currency. Maybe Churchill will start building some markets. And we don't have to bother with gifting spy city to Caesar.
  • Open borders with Churchill. We want to take a look at York to see what we are up against. Scout with galley.
  • Build 2-3 more galleys and a trireme (for stack defense) in Paris and Rome.
  • Whip granary in Loyang. Stop building lighthouses in Baoding, Haerbin and Kaofeng. We are too close to the end for this to make sense. Stop forge builds.
  • Kyoto attack: T96: Bombard with cat and unload the HA+Knight on the hill. T97 Attack with cat and capture city with remaining forces. Raze city.
  • Tokyo attack: Galleys at Kyoto return and pick up maces on hill south of Guangzhou. Bring them to hill outside Tokyo. Survivors from Kyoto walk to Tokyo. Bomber is rebased to Guangzhou T97 and starts bombing T98. Do 3-4 bombing runs and an air strike then capture. Re-base bomber to Orleans.
  • Orleans attack: T96: Air-strike followed by attack. Start with HA from the south.
  • When Berlin expands next turn build a Confu missionary for Munich. This is VERY IMPORTANT. If Bismarck doesn't have a religion there he will adopt Tao when we gift him Spy City and we don't want this.
  • Spy City Attack: When the knight in Yan'an is healed or almost healed we should be able to take the city.
  • Tours attack: A little tricky because of the spear. I suggest we move the sword in Lyons towards Tours in case we need back-up units. I think we need 7 healed units for the attack since we have no bomber support.
  • The swords in Rome and Cumae should go towards York and maybe be loaded on galleys. The cho-ko-nu can also go towards York. We need to pull all available attacking units towards England. (Not archers and not the chariot in Antium because we need an MP there.
  • When healed the maces in New York can start a journey to Ravenna (provided that the Tokyo attack is on track.)
  • Spy slider to 0%, tech slider to 100%. Tech path: Engineering - Paper.
  • Stop AP build in Yangzhou. It's too slow. Build AP in Beijing and switch Hangzhou to Angkor.
  • Whip spies in our smaller cities (Our big cities with Tao should be reserved for wonder building). We need at least 30. I will do an exact calculation later. Make sure they can reach Spy City within the next 11 turns factoring in that we get Engineering in two turns. i.e. build spies in distant (but not too distant) cities NOW and later in closer cities.
  • Build the road marked in this screenshot It saves one turn when we are bringing the 3rd GArtist from Guanzhou to Spy City.
  • Chop, chop, chop like crazy. All workers start chopping if there are any forests near. We need all hammers for Wonders and spies.
  • It's too early to speculate about the Churchill attack. We are going to need some knights from Antium and the other cities near England.
  • Switch Shanghai to Glib next turn. We want to finish it there. Guangzhou can build wealth until the next GArtist is born.
  • Sistine can be done in Yan'an.
  • Whip some Knights in Central cities like Nanjing, Chanjing, Chengdu, Moscow, St. Pete. They can still reach England in time if we whip NOW.
  • Bring the GGeneral to England.
I think each turn set should be no longer than 2-3 turns from now on so that we can adjust in between.

Just a couple of comments:-
  • I agree Lighthouses and Forges are not good choices with only 20 turns or so to go!! Sorry! Yes, it's a different mindset now that the end is drawing near. Only wonders, spies and knights really make sense now (And gold ofc).
  • AP build in Yangzhou is just for overflow. That makes sense. We get the OR and State Property bonuses. Good call!

I believe AP is the most expensive wonder to build so maybe we shouldn't use this for fail gold any more.

Regarding the other wonders note that with our multipliers on whipping we can get around 52-57 hammers per pop in Tao cities (w or w/o forge) so if we can get the last wonders within ~200 hammers of completion in 14-15 turns we can always whip them in the last turn (Provided that all techs are done and that the city building is at least size 8).

As a rule of thumb, I think it's still OK to push overflow into wonders in the next set except for the AP. And we do need to get a little more fail gold for the remaining research

The only issue with that is that the fail gold won't do us much good in those circumstances, we need those with hammers invested to complete in the next 10 turns or so. Glad we are under no time pressure as there is a lot to think about!

Yes, good point. I think we can afford to whip the wonders earlier than last turn. Especially if we have a lot of fail gold coming. We will get a lot of fail gold from HE plus some capture gold and I think we are almost there when it comes to having enough gold to finish all techs within 16 turns.
 
The set went well. de Gaulle is history, Kyoto is razed and we are about to attack Spy City. Tokyo still needs some softening with the bomber and our units are almost in place. Wonder builds are on track and we have knights en route to England and more coming out of Antium every turn. Ten spies are built, about twenty to go.

T98: Trap worked! Destroy de Gaulles spear with an xbow. Capture Tours! De Gaulle is gone. No losses. Bomb Tokyo. There is NO 4th Toku city.
