It has been very difficult in fact to compile these teams this month.

Thanks for the work you've put into it. I think everyone realizes there's no perfect solution to the problem of assembling teams.

Well, there are two things that i don't like:
1. My nick is not spelled correctly
2. My team seems to be the wickest one. I usually win on deity, but i've never played AW as i wrote above and all others say that they only win on emperror. I hoped to be in a team with at least one player who knows how to win such games

Yes you are right. I'm sorry to mis spell your nick. You are not the first and won't be the last.

As for team strengths...

The teams are made up as follows.
1. Teams that have played together before can stay together if they so wish.
2. People that apply as a team are kept intact.
3. I then segregate the remaining people into the software versions they play and assign people to the teams that are not full, by standard and then by the order they sign up.
4. I then form new teams from the remaining players trying to balance the ability of the players.

For this game we had a lot of late subscribers at regent to emperor level, and so Darkness agreed to look after a team for me. I was able to assign most of the regent and monarch players to that team. The rest were split into two teams - yours and Owns.

If you look at teams Darkness Obormot and Own then you will see the players I had to split into teams. As the strongest player in your team I assigned you as captain.

Having said all that, I aim to please where I can, so I can offer you a place in team Chunky if you wish.

I really do strongly suggest that you continue this discussion with me by PM as discussing it in the open forum can cause problems.

So, the problem is that old teams cannot be split and the new players are mostly emperror level and below. Well, i think i'll stay in the same team. If you get me moved to the team chunky it'll be unfair.
I hope we'll at least fininsh second last

It's not usually a problem. It just seems that a lot of new players decided to join in this game.

What tends to happen is that the majority of players having played in a team tend to want to stay in it. It's a team spirit thing. Some players leave each team each month, and those teams tend to recruit their own replacements. Then I'll get half a dozen new players that I sprinkle between the teams. For this game I got about 25 new players. It puts me in a difficult position and I just do the best I can.

Personally I would like to just build new teams for each game so that they are all at a similar level, but it's not what people want.

If you decide you want to play SGOTM8 and you want to find a different team then, then you will find it easy depending on the way you conduct yourself in this game. People just post in the game thread of the team they want to play in and ask for a place, or quite often they PM each other to make up a team.

I can break up teams, and I have done it once. I would prefer not to, because if I upset the people who have been here from the beginning it would be a bad thing. Keeping each of 81 people happy is too difficult for me, I just do the best I can.

I just realized that I'm the lowest difficulty level on the team... and they've all played succession before

Don't worry (too much) guys, Regent is an easy win for me. I've just had too much RL intrusion to see how much higher than that I can go. Plus, I take advice easily, so I won't slow you down too much (hopefully)...
