And a very good kill ratio as far as we are tech backwards. We can win this game. They won' t be able to destroy us and their only winning chance will be UN. So after RP we need Espionage as fast as we can.

Sink 3 american frigates and a transport. Hope it was full. Take a risk, shoot 3 enemy frigates at 3 hp and then sink Viking galleon with a frigate :D. BTW we have Persian carrier in our waters. A bunch of 40 cannons is heading for Mecca, 33 pop :sad: 4:0

Lose a caravel but sink 2 viking frigates. Kill 2 persian Infantries. Then do the most stupid thing I can imagine, misclick and our rifle army passes one tile behind the cannon force heading for Mecca. Damn! I’m forced to cover them with all I have as fast movers, 7 sipahi. They’re in the open… 9:3 I pull out of new hope some explorers and slaves to attract Persian attack and save the cannons… Hope it works.
(IBT) Americans land 12 units near New Hope. Persians land 6. Propaganda hits Kafa. Persians kill 2 of our sipahi, but then stop the assault. Bombers destroy the walls in New Hope.

5 Infantries defend Mecca. This city will fall easily. Kill them along with a cav and raze the city. Shake’s was there. I’ve opened a tile on our home island to attract some forces, there are too much in Persia. Kill American cav, then retreat the sipahi on caravel. Lose a sipahi against marine then finish him. 20:8 In the IBT New Hope, defended by 11 rifles will be attacked by the double of 6 attack units (infs, cavs and marines) and maybe 3 TOW, but they’re wounded. If our guys die, it’ll be for the good cause, as it allowed us to face less infs in Persia.

Sipahi army takes out Samaria with 5 ships. Kill 3 redlined cavs (retreats from New Hope). Kill viking galleon and 2 frigates, losing a frigate. Kill 2 persian Infs. 42:12. There’s a carrier field in our South, 2 americans and a Persian.
(IBT) Americans and Persians bomb our rifle army to the red, but don’t attack it. An infantry is killed near New Hope. America is building Seti.

Kill 7 persians and a settler. Found New Iznik so we can transfer units in 1 turn between the homeland, Zululand and Persia.
Have to stop here. The situation is tough. Our armies are being bombed to red, and are on a mountain in Persia now. There are some sipahi under to eventually take the hit… I’m trying to rebuild the road to there, but I doubt it can hold. There are holes in the blockade to attract some attacks out of this barren land. There’s an American destroyer near us, I think it’ll attack a ship soon. I had some more thoughts, but forgot them… Please check for MM, I have no time. Not my best turns.
 
I see that noone has got it yet so I'll go for 4 more turns.

I take an option I had left to the next leader. Pull back rifle army in New Hope. MM what I should have done. Guys, how do you play with me if I leave my games in this state :D
(IBT) The bombings go on the army, I think it survived under the sipahi. I hope. We lose a dye colony… What the hell… Two sipahi lost on the cannons, along with a ship to the destroyer. Istanbul riots. What a morronistic leader. What the hell is this We love the sultan day???

Sipahi armies are alive. They kill an infantry and retreat to heal. Kill the destroyer. Lose 2 sipahi but kill 3 TOW and 3 infantries (American). Accidently hit enter…

Kill the Persian and 2 americans. 61:18 Disband 2 explorers and rush barracks in New Hope. MM specialists for RP. Rifle-Infantry upgrade is only 30g, that’s nice.
(IBT) MMMOOORRROOONNNSSS. Persians do an amphibious attack on New Hope, sure they die. Even if the army was bombed to the red. RP comes in. Industrialisation is prerequisite for Espionnage??? Anyways, I go for it. Army is built.

We have rubber! Lose 2 sipahi to a damn Persian Infantry. Kill 3 persian ships for one of ours. RNG :mad: 63:20 Change my mind and kill 2 persian marines. 65:20 Sent the armies and the cannons for the next Persian city.
(IBT) Lose New Hope’s barracks to bombardment. Kill a Persian frigate and a cav. 67:20

Advancing on Gordium. In range next turn. Watch out, there’s an American landing due next turn. We have a link between Persia, Zululand and homeland. When we send a few gallions in Aydin or Sivas, India will be linked too.
The homeland blockade is opened. Feel free to close it. I’m trying to find some work for the army over there, because we’re fighting with half our army at most.
Persia is going to be ours soon. I haven’t built cities as I don’t want to split the army, but there are 3 settlers in New Hope. Pay attention, the Americans will soon start landing MI. And please build some artillery, those carriers there are pissing me off. Have fun and beat those morons for me. It ain’t over till it’s over. But it’s fun.
EDIT: The new army is in New Hope, it can became an infantry or sipahi army but I don't feel the need of it. Feel free to keep it for later or to fill it with only 2 units to keep it transportable.
EDIT2: After upload I saw that Iznik is about to riot. I guess I left MM to the next leader. Sorry.
 
Wow you guys have certainly been busy whilst i've been away for the weekend. Things look great, and now we have artillery, Persia is undoubtedly ours. I'll play tomorrow morning (day off work - yay!) and see how far I get.

What does everyone want to do with the army? Obviously it will be good to have one around for use on that last island we need for domination (if i did my maths right) - so perhaps i will put 3 infantry in there? Let me know what you think.

BTW, just so you know it, the Vikings are backwards, they lack RP... :D Guess what does that mean... That we've attacked the stronger foe once again :D
EDIT: Artillery upgrade costs too much... 120g each. TOOOO MUCH FOR ME. I'd rather go with cannons.

Oooh, you're right, but artillery hit ratio is better against infantry than cannons are, and they get 2hp off sometimes. I may upgrade 1 or 2 :mischief: , but I don't know how many cannons you've transported over to Persia in the last 20 turns, it may be enough, you appear to be making short work of those infantry :thumbsup:
Tackling MI may be a diffeent matter :eek:
 
MI will be much more tougher. That's why I think we must jump on the viking island rather than going for the one they share with america. To see when we finish with Persia.
If we MM all our scientists for taxmen we can upgrade a cannon per turn, feel free to try it but I think that costs too much. I would rather disband some cannons in Persia.
I have sent a lot of them to strike so we must pay attention to the landings.

IBT - 1 TOW suicides. Americans are building Manhattan Project in New York. 32-8

5 - 1650AD - Bomb the American stack, but don't attempt attack. Move towards Arbela.
IBT - Cavalry suicides. Americans settle New Orleans in no-mans land. Our army stack is getting heavily bombed. :eek:

6 - 1655AD - Kill a rifle and two marines. Hmm, not thrilled now. Americans have a port on Persia and a launchpad for attacks on New Hope, I can't reach it yet. Start moving army stack back towards safety 36-8
IBT - Ouch... our armies get smashed by volleys from American and Persian bombers and artillery, then finished off with Persian marines. I think this is the beginning of the end now... Learn Industrialisation and up research to get Espionage in 4. 36-20

10 - 1675AD - Ship over stack of cannons from Persia, and bomb that stack as much as possible. Amazingly our two sipahi armies in Zululand have little trouble taking out the whole stack. Woohoo!! Feel slighter better with myself. Sink a Viking frigate. Kill 2 Viking rifles and 5 Persian marines, lose 2 sipahi 57-22

Okay, well Espionage is in 1. We lack the offensive power to start any sort of attack, especially as bombers rip us to shreds before we can even get close. The only way I can see us surviving now is to hunker down in New Hope, leader fish for a couple more sipahi and infantry armies. Save up some cash and try to steal our way up to flight. Sabotaging the UN build every now and then to try and stave off the American victory. We need some sort of anti-aircraft weaponry before we head back into enemy lands.

It is possible we can destroy the American bombers in New Orleans, but they are probably guarded by 5-6 MI. Which will be hard to beat without our stack of cannons and sipahi armies (I just wish I'd turned back sooner - sorry)
 
We've lost the 3 armies and the 40+ cannons??? Damn. We're pretty much toasted.
Bad luck Chunky. I wasn't far from this too but the coin flipped well.
The good side is that we have improved our income now.
I'll take a look at the game and comment tonight back home.

Situation looks dire so it will be very very tough from now on.

We cannot stop mobilization, can we? A few factories supported with power plants would be cool.

As far as I understand (I can't look at the save now) we need to build up defenses at New Hope as fast as we can. Then we can try to bash them. So I vote for building an infantry army first.

I think I will be avaible to play tomorrow night so we have some more time to discuss.
 
Looked at the save last night, and really I'm at a loss. Without any antiaircraft capabilities, bombers are going to rip us up. Not to mention marines...

I guess I agree on another infantry army, to try to hold New Hope. Turn research off after espionage and build the intel agency, plant spies and see what stealing rates are like. Check America's UN build, see how long we got...

I didn't check the culture race. Can we afford to sell our unis and libs? It would help our economy (we're not going to research ever again), but our cpt would drop to almost nothing...
 
No, we cannot stop mobilisation now. I was entertaining a small hope that we might be able to kill off Persia and retain the ability to go back to Normalcy if required, but not now. Maximum defence at New Hope sounds good to me. IIRC, Istanbul produces armies every 12 turns, there is one coming in next turn, and there is always the possibility of leader fishing.

Since there is zero possibility of us being able to gain any ground until we steal flight - at least - I don't see any reason why we can't fill out our current armies for max defence.

Top priority is a spy in America. And then a safe investigation of the UN building city - i think it was Atlanta - so we can successfully calculate the time we have to successfully complete each sabotage.

I'm not sure about selling off our research buildings - if our steals don't work out then we won't have any chance. We can probably research techs up to flight (5 techs) at a 7/8 turn rate. As for your question about culture race Mach, according to MapStat, America have 49744 culture, and +337 cpt. That means they have 150 turns until they win this way, less if they come out of Fascism soon. None of the rest of us will get close to 50000 culture by the end of the game.
 
Oh, and let me recount a rare mini-encounter I had with my brain earlier this afternoon when I was mulling over yesterday's play. :D

To use army prebuild or not. I don't know now, I' ll check tonight. The problem is we cannot finish of Persia because they have a city at a west island. We cannot reach there with galleons and frigates.
 
Mobilisation will last until the end of the game... Which looks close to me. Try to rebuild some artillery force to fight 'till the end, along with a few infantry armies we can at least take persia with us. 20 artys might do a lot of work, including capture back our cannons (hopefully upgraded :D ). Was this your tactic Chunky? Say hi to your brain next time you hear from him, I can't do so to mine... Won't recognise him if he shows up...

At least we have an updated world map now. Haven't looked at the save, but the next persion that does - assuming that Atlanta has a factory and a hydro plant (courtesy of the Hoover dam), how many shields are they producing per turn?

Atlanta has already been working on the UN for 13 turns, so I say they probably don't have much longer left.
 
Ok. So here are the details.

We have an empty army at New Hope now. I had to load an infantry and sipahi to other armies. I think it will take some time to conquer this land and if the game is not finished till that time, we will have transports anyway.

American city at Persian land (I can't remember its name now) have about 8 bombers which destroyed most of our naval power. I started building a new navy near Iznik, and about 15 naval units may survive I think.

We are searching corporation now and it is about 6 turns away. Stealing techs is not cheaper and it is risky. We are +120 gpt so searching two stealing one tech would be good. And even this way we have to survive for at least 20 more turns.

I couldn't be able to transport too much units to New Hope because of bombers. I captured some of our cannons back. New Hope will survive but I'm afraid some more time later ICBM's will begin falling on us. I didn't count but America will need too much time to complete UN at Atlanta. And the last point is there is no other land then we explored. Upper quarter is totally sea.

Baal, doesn't the instant transfert between the continents work anymore? There are 2 cities only meant for this...
I doubt that the AI will go nuclear, but time will show.
