SGOTM8 - Cutlery

Rome has oil in his homeland.... we have to make sure that we claim that oil before anyone else does.

:worship: Bow before the F5 ! :worship:

Shouldn't that be bow before the F-15? ;) Anyone considered building one and starting our long-overdue Golden Age?

Holy Strike Eagle Batman! I totally forgot about the Golden Age!!!

I see that we're sending oil and rubber to Lizzy for the next 13 turns. I thought our rep was shot. What did we trade to her that she agreed to a lux/resource deal?

Good point. I'll try to do that right away, since the wonder GA never worked out. And this is probably the only game I'll ever play where the F-15 might actually be relevant. :)

I can't remember - does the F-15 have lethal bombardment, or am I going to have to shoot down an airplane with it?

Yep, it has lethal bombard. There was a fighter I built hanging around somewhere - if it's still there, upgrade away!

The fighter was in England at the end of my turns

Not a lot to report. I only played five turns because they're taking a long time, and it's getting late.

We have peace treaties going with everybody except Greece (who's out of reach) and Rome. So the only thing to do was attack Rome. I cleared the Roman cities off of the large island to our SE, so now we own that island outright (though I found some barbs on the last turn who begged to differ. But they're dead now...).

I just helicoptered some troops onto the small island between there and the Roman mainland. There's a settler with them - the intent is to found a city, rush an airport (we have tons of cash), and airlift in whatever troops we need to raze the Roman city. The current Roman troop strength on the island seems to be two Mech Inf and a cavalry.

I did manage to kick off our Golden Age in 1685. So we have that going for us now. I also built a couple more F-15's because they have lethal land bombardment and bombers don't. And I did manage to disconnect (at least for the moment) Rome's oil, iron, and coal.

Must be my turn next :) tonight so tomorrow a.m. will be when I play.

I won't have much time for playing until the week-end before halloween, so if I can sneak in for a set it'll be short and on short notice before then.

Oh, why did we give Lizzie oil after spending so much time denying it to her?

(Yeah it's technically a.m. but the  is still working so I won't be playing 'til I've slept!)

We did; however there is currently a deal going, for the next 8 turns, giving oil & rubber to her.

'kay, I've played.

Got in 10 turns, the wonder of Saturday mornings. Still took aaaaaages, and I captured one and razed another Roman city. We have our Roman beachhead. We also have close to 33% WW now.

Next player try to goad Liz and Toku into declaring; they re-negotiated peace deals.

Use some GA research to get 1 turn from Space Flight - we get to build :nuke: next turn, though the range of Tacs won't be much help. Push on to Satellites.

Oh and cancel that Oil-to-Lizzie deal, if it's still going. She's built bombers and tanks.
