SGOTM8 - Cutlery

This is turn 3, ToE due in 6, at max research we can fetch Corp, Espionage or Sanitation. atomic theory would require 8 turns, but we could slow ToE down. However, Lizzie HAS corporation.

My suggestion: research AT(5000) by hand, slow ToE by 2 turns, buy corporation when we get there and grab Electronics+Refining (4500+4000) with ToE.

I'll finish playing it tomorrow, so y'all have the night to sleep on it and reply.

burn to potties or spies, trade for corp, zero research to AT, then electronic

<AK has assumed the persona of SW for the time being> runs cackling into the night

sounds like a sound plan. otherwise we can all get a sound beating, when lizzie (the thin) beats around the bush and meets up with clinton.

*hope you had that suit + cape drycleaned before you wore it.
Mr Demented Jive Talker alter ego has had a run with some wild buffalo stances, a even a wild mambo dancing, spider loving, whatchamacallit thingee -- Ah, A GIRL :D

Plan: burn spies, wait for AT, build hoover.

Electricity for Indus, 2gpt and 10g
Big news: She's got Corporation. We're still up RP and Sci Meth on her
@Cesar's place: Commie +12 for Electricity, Indus and WM
We have rubber in the jungle
Change WST to factory and cash-rush it for 624g, it'll start a Hoover pre-build right next.
Trade corp for RP + 51gpt plus some dust mites
Elisabeth is still steel/refining over on us
I can't trade for either, so I'll just burn for spies and try trading eventually, one way or the other.

T4.
MM for a bunch of CE, rail the core mountains and changfe a few irrigs/mines here and there to max prod at 12 and speed growth
That speeds up ToE by a turn

I think EVERY tile of our usefully workable domain is railed.

You might want to double-check my luxury trades, I haven't re-bargained them for fear prices would increase.

Thanks for the support ;) I haven't built Intel Agency yet because of the factories at hand. We have some cash and I guess we could spend a few coins of it on 1 or 2 factories, making Intel and units come about faster. Either that or we can just wait and see what the future is good enough to give us.

Just a (very) random thought: we have cash and tech lead, so how about we buy a full dogpile against betty sometime? That'd teach her to go on and learn techs we don't know of. Or at least, that'll teach her to take her tea with the little finger raised :shakehead

Perhaps the timing is less than ideal, with japs and viks being at war, but it struck me that for once I had had an idea ... :mischief:

If we don't need her help researching, and to date she has not been a help at all, then that's one reason out of the way.

If we're not going to push her into a more warlike government then that's another one down.

And if it will otherwise impede her then I think it's a grand idea. This is, of course, a certain sign that your logic is fatally flawed.

Is there a better time to do this?

I hope it doesn't last that long.

I have not taken a look in a while, and can't from work, but are we in the running for the spoons?

If we aren't right now, we'll be eventually. Why would we play this anyways if it wasn't for the ultimate cutlery?

So that makes 2 in favor of a world dogpile vs lizzie, 1 for nukes and one against nukes (which have nothing to do with the beginning of this sentence).

Well, if we're going to start a war against Lizzie just to be annoying, now is a decent time to do it. We don't really have anything better to do, and now that we have our entire continent railroaded, we should be able to defend against stray landings well enough.

I'd still have to vote against it, though, as it's not clear what we really have to gain beyond being annoying. Given how bad the AI is at invasions, I don't really expect the others to accomplish much. Quite possibly not even enough to force her into a less research-friendly government.

And I think nukes are a wonderful idea, to help clear out that first city on an enemy continent, if the game goes far enough.

So for the spoon.......

Clear the world except for one opponent, reduce our cities to just one, and play for a long time? Is that the plan? I think that is the only way that we'll get the spoon.

We might be abe to pull it out by not taking any foreign cities.... razing everything. Other teams will probably occupy some cities and we could probably slip under them if we just stay on our continent.

I would like to go for fastest win so we can draw bigger crowds to SGoTM9.

Besides, I'm not sure how the commitee would take the intentional run at the spoons. We could lose out Civ licenses or be shunned or something.

Hey, did the Cubs make the playoffs? And for those of you that are not familiar w/ American baseball, the Cubs are one of the finest baseball teams to ever grace this earth. But, like us, they just fail to win. :)
