SGOTM8 - Cutlery

I was on board with the burning the rep on a Flight buy via gpt then declaring buuuut.....

we are receiving 119 gpt from Lizzy for the next 10 turns. We are giving her 3 luxes. so it might be a wash.

Awe crap go ahead and do it....

Roster
eldar - On deck
Tubby Rower - in the hole
soul_warrior -
Beorn -
Minute Man -
jb1964 - just played
A-K - said he has it I think

I'd also build some comercial docks in coastal cities. that's +1 shield for each coastal square. WoodenKnifeburg has 5 tiles that would benefit, & lawn Guy Land Idiot Academy & Pearlton have 6

Commercial Dock = +1 gold per tile.
Offshore Platform (needs Miniaturization, costs 240 shields) gives +1 shield per coast/sea tile.

Oh my bad... nevermind then.. but it still might be worth it. After war starts I don't see them being built and there is ~15 extra gold that we can get.

The bigger financial gain will be to build banks and stock markets in the core.

Screwing over Elisabeth on a pure cash purchase of Flight will offset the loss of the cash for luxes. The other observation from this is that she'll be out three luxes! That'll put a dent in her research.

I'ma gonna see if she'll bite for such a deal from the time of the 1350 AD save.

AK is shopping. Igor gets to play with sharp objects. Confused as to why we're buildng big hairy primates when we could be building infantry, so make some changes. Beijing building worker? MM a bit. Merge the native workers into some cities to get to size 12. Igor push button.

1355: AK still shopping. Upgrade 2 cannon. Disband 2 LB and a musket. Buy Ivory from Toku for grapes and dyes

IT: Big bathtub done.

1360: Drop science. Too much thinking making brain hurt. Mobile metal in 2.

IT: Julius mean, cancels wool deal. Sell him spies for wool, WM, 11g

1365: Back from shaking spear. don't worry washed hands per instructions on sign.

IT: mobile metal done. start heavier than air flying devices

1370: AK back from shopping. AK spend 124 to vestigate York. Liz in demo, will build US next turn. 5 inf loafing. Liz has all lux. Lizzie go no oil, so sell her mobile metal to offset the vestigation costs. We get incense, 450g, 150gpt

IT: Liz mean, demand TM and 100g. Do Igor really look that dumb? CIA done. Liz finished US

1390 IT: Liz and Julius sign MPP

1395 IT: silks deal expires.

1400: sell AT to Julius for silk, fur, 69g, 28 gpt

Coming soon to the multiplex (in the IT):

Flight finishes
3 stock exchanges (change Woodenkinifeburg to wall street after they finish; trust igor)

please start a burn on Adv Flight

after we build 6-8 whirlybirds, launch a similtaneous strike on Tienstin and Chinan and keep them.

Phase 2 is build an airfield one S of the unclaimed spices. target toku.

Our goal should be to go for more lux and strategic resources.

Elisabeth has Amphibious War and galleons with a range of 9. Beware.

Taking out Chinan first is a good idea. Afterwards it becomes the first stepping stone to killing Lizzy by taking out her oil under Cambridge. Sorry I missed that earlier.

We really need to start culling workers for airstrips. And I would absolutely change the library in Herakleia to a worker, rush it, build a strip and put a tank or two there to protect our only offshore account.

WKBurg has 400 sheilds stored up in a pre-build. Any suggestions?

If the Core is MM'ed you can get two cities over 50spt and 6 over 34spt. Otherwise known as 2-turn and 3-turn tanks/bombers/helos.

was lazy on the MM cause I figured most of the builds would get changed

Tanks methinks !!

eldar - UP
TR - On Deck

Oooh! I get to :hammer: people, it seems :D The Grillers were being built 'cos they upgrade to TOWs and TOWs can go in the 'copters. Infantry while being soopa-doopa right now upgrade to Mech Infantry and they can't fly in 'Copters. Though they can go via airports and airfields.

Prior to Rocketry infantry will be more handy when dropping off a settler and some defense. In the long run being able to drop off the same settler w/ TOW will be better than handy.

@Igor, thanks for the Wall Street pre-build. Now go wash your damn hands. :p

Eldar, have fun w/ the commencement of hostilities. I think Igor’s suggestion to target Mao and then branch out for luxes and resources is far beyond his otherwise room temperature IQ.

Oh, I should post my got-it, I D/L'd the save this morning (civfanatics.net is down - so the saves/upload is inaccessible right now).

How much do Helos cost? I should start some pre-builds. Probably can hit Heraklia as soon as Flight comes in, with a couple of airfields and tanks.

I'll hang back from the now inevitable Lizzie/Pizza-boy double-act. The amount of gpt and luxes coming from that axis means war with both (and due to the MPP, it will be) isn't really a relishing prospect.

Buy a MPP with Rome and wait for Lizzy to attack first ;)

Helis cost 80 in vanilla.. I don't know if the price jumped in [c3c]

Why hit Heraklia? that's our city. I'd change the granary to an airport then rush it ASAP. we can't defend that city until Flight.

D'you really think she'd be dumb enough to fall for a trick like that....?
I certainly do  !

Don't remember seeing a price increase anywhere. Seems reasonable.

IIRC, Helo/Bomber/Tank are all 100s in C3C.

Heraklia is naked to the world and a great way station to launch an airborne of the English main continent. We have lost our other offshore accounts to opportunistic AI's so I'm advocating we transform a worker from Heraklia into an airfield and fly in a tank, infantry and/or gorilla to watch over our assets.

The advantage to the over the water properties is in being to quickly transport large numbers of units into a single worker/airfield without dealing with the logistics that come w/ the use of helicopters. It's just a more simple, and cheaper, process for moving units.

I understand that... but I wa talking about the term hit. I use hit to mean attack a city. I think that in this mod workers can be airlifted so rush/build an airport on the mainland and rush one in Hera... then airlift a worker and tons of military.

We could also quickly take out Alex after trading for his free modern tech (cross fingers it's Rockets)

Excellent idea! Totally forgot about that since I have been more focused on the last procedure for the total Alexectomy.

We can't quickly take out Alex. He has cities on a far-away island (to the north of England, IIRC). Giving him his free modern tech effectively gifts it to Lizzie as well. If we do plan to do that, scoop up every optional tech on the table (Demo, Fascism, Amphib) first and use those plus Adv.Flight (and I think Commie and/or Spying) to get it. Chances are they won't be enough though.
