I won't be playing 'til tomorrow, probably. I'm off to watch Serenity this evening, 20:40 showing so I doubt I'll be back home 'til around 11.30-midnight.

I did plenty of bashing! Some of it was forced upon me. The rest, I did because I could :D :hammer:

Summary:
We are at war with Japan (they started it), China (we started it, and it will be finished in the next turn or two - just depends how many spearmen are in Chinan :lol: ).
We were briefly at war with Greece, captured their two close-by cities, then made peace again - his remaining cities are too far away.
We are Modern, Greece drew Rocketry, Lizzie researched it, I bought it off Alex.

Someone please double-check this, my eyes may have been deceiving me - but it looks as if, and really, I mean this, it looks as if there isn't ANY sodding ALUMINIUM on this whole stupid map!!!

Little else to report, other than that the wars go well.

Spoiler Detailed turn log :

0 1400 Do the rounds, swap a few builds, re-assign the odd specialist, move some citizens. Build an embassy with Ragnar.

IT: Flight comes in, start on Adv.Flight.

1 1405 Use 5 slaves to build airstrips, use the worker near Heraklia to make an airstrip. Ship 4 tanks + an Inf across there, will hit Alex next turn. Adv.Flight in 6 after going to max sci and hiring a few beaker-heads. England, Rome have Sanitation - I buy it from Rome for Electronics+Demo.

IT: Wall Street completes; Alex dials up asking for RoP/MPP :lol:

2 1410 I don't trust Japan. Too many boats wandering around our shores. Dial up Alex and tell him the bad news. Move the tanks in, and leave the Inf guarding Heraklia for now.

IT: I was right. Japan drops off 4 Cavalry… by Heraklia. This ain't too bad, though, as I can drop some Grillers in there and still hit Alex with the Tanks. He only has Hoplites :D

3 1415 Give Japan the boot order, he declares. No more Ivory, oh shucks. The 4 tanks take out the defenders in Argos (3 Hops+LB!!), then turn around and kick the carp out of the Japanese Cavs. Blitz, blitz, blitz, blitz - and 4 guranteed Elite tanks! Thanks Toku! Shell the Japanese boats approaching the mainland. Upgrade stuff, including Elite LBs - not much use really.

IT: Japs drop 6 units off on the hill next to WSpTon.

4 1420 Japan's 6 units disappear, and we have two more Elite tanks…. Oops. Crash on hitting F3. Re-load, rinse, and repeat.

IT: Japan drop more units off, this time by Argos. Fool!

5 1425 Lizzie has Rockets. The Jap Cavalry are wiped out, and Mycenae is taken. That island is all ours now.

IT: Viking/Greece trade embargo. Er, sure.

6 1430 A bit dull, really - MM some specialists and bomb a Jap boat.

IT: Adv.Flight. Swap with Lizzie for Amphib - Marines! Peace with Alex, and I boost him forward. He gets Rockets too :D So no swapsies for Lizzie. Adv.Flight, Amphib, Spies get us Rockets. Start on Ecology. :eek: - No Aluminium!

7 1435 There's NO ALUMINIUM ON THE WHOLE DAMNED MAP!!!!!! Upgrade the Grillers to TOWs.

8 1440 Declare on China. Drop some TOWs off by Tsientsin. Drop 3 more off by a Jap city. Extricate more Jap units from our territory.

9 1445 Take out a Jap city, but 3 TOWs are needed to take out one lousy Rifleman. More units dropped by the Japs, more Japs units kicked out. In doing so, we get an MGL - finally! He will have to be Helo'd off of the island.

10 1450 Capture Alesund (former Viking, now Jap). Get a Worker, who becomes an Airstrip. Move some tanks in for help with Bodo. There is a settler under the stack of TOWs on the SE tundra island - there's more Oil there (pictured) so it's a good target. 3 TOWs by Chinan ready to top off Mao once and for all. We have enough Helos for now, one still to re-base, we need to decide where. The Helo in Heraklia has Washington aboard for transport back to the mainland. We won't be able to airlift armies of course so: do we build an army of tanks for mainland defense? Rush the worker in Tientsin ASAP to get an airstrip there. Intended research was Ecology->Synth Fibres - but with no Al, what's the point (apart from Adv.Paras?!) So maybe Fission after Eco.

I may have done, and forgotten about it :blush: In which case we're researching the wrong thing entirely right now, but hey....
 
I vote that the GL gets airdropped on Lizzy w/ tanks, tows and a settler. Toss in a worker if feasible.

Should I finish ecology before going for fission? How much to persue Japan? Should we build up for a English invasion?
 
I was going after the really close islands, and Chinan. That island Chinan is on is primary goal, as taking it will deprive Lizzie of oil. Having the easy beachhead to fly in tanks - priceless.

Research Fission next. Sorry about the barf. If Lizzie is researching it though (she might be!) all may not be lost.
 
Stick w/ Ecology or switch to fission, I don't think that it matters much at this point.

Everything we do now is a potential invasion of Elisabeth but I like the idea of focusing on capturing luxuries and interdicting key resources first. Anything to keep WW at bay.

China's dead w/i the next few turns and does provide a jump point to intertict Lizzy's oil. Too bad Canterbury is on the other side of the landmass. Then again, a few copters will make getting there a little faster.

And thanks to the staff for the new features!
 
Guys I prolly won't be able to play.... and since it's the weekend someone else might be able to switch.. so post a got it if you want it... we need to keep this thing moving

Where are we at in the Roster w/ skips, swaps, etc.?
 
I think that it's a free-for-all. Alan wants us done by the end of the month and with our current pace it could put us in November.

I'm technically up, but don't know when I'll be able to play.. the turnset shouldn't be too hard, but we need to be careful with England as Lizzy and Caesar have a MPP. I think that we are getting a few luxes from Rome.
