You may have - with varying degree of interest - watched the discussion going on about me planning to build Shakespeare's Theater in Vandelay.
Thus I would like to start the discussion felt missing by some.
IMHO one of the AIs will soon research Free Artistry making available the Great Wonder of Shakespeare's Theater. ST makes 8 content citizens in the city where it is located. Thus IMHO it is ideally build in a city with high food potential AND high shield potential, because 8 more content citizens should sustain WLTKD and thus reduce shield loss due to waste. Note that this is not a valid argument for both the Capital Deux Riviere and the Forbidden Palace city Groton, because these two by definition have minimal waste and corruption.
Why did I want to build ST in Vandelay?
- it has 6 flood plains giving lots of food
- it has 5 mountains giving lots of shields
- it can be managed to have no tile overlap with surrounding cities
- it will produce A LOT of commerce/science because it has Newton's University.
Are there better candidates? IMHO not, because both Sanction and St. Octaviansburg loose tiles due to overlap and have much less commerce/science potential.
