Making fun of you
I just change the keyboard layout to Dorvak.

In some places, that could get you killedNew York Knicks said:How about going to the computer that can see what all others are doing and go to a porn site making it pop up on everybodys screen!

homeyg said:Very well familiar with net send. I use it all the time in typing. I have every computer's number in the class even though they don't have the little stickers on it. There's a small program you can download that let's you change your computer name to anything you want when you send the message.
Tried it in Win2K (though without putting it in autoexec.bat), and it gave the following error message:Chieftess said:I never made any pranks, but I spotted some ways you could.
1 - Back in the DOS days, create any text file, and put the first 2 letters as MZ. Then, just type jibberish. A few extended ASCII characters add a nice touch, too. 2-3 lines will suffice. Rename it to a .exe file, and put it in the autoexec.bat file. DOS will choke when it tries to run it since it's not a real exe. Not sure how WinXP would respond to that.
So, apparently, it works.C:\Documents and Settings\Administrator\MYDOCU~1>junk.exe
C:\WINDOWS\HIMEM.SYSToo many parameters
Program too big to fit in memory
C:\DOCUME~1\ADMINI~1\MYDOCU~1>
Done that. In my case, I sucessfully (I'm not sure how, though...) convinced someone that their printer was about to print 30,000 pages of pi... I took the screenshot by sending 30,000 pages of pi to the printer, then pulling the plug on the printer before it could print out too many pages.Chieftess said:3 - "How to trick an old programmer". This one is simple, yet hilarious. Take a screenshot of an error window, and paste it into a paint program. Either leave it there, or save it as a gif file for a desktop wallpaper. When someone walks in and sees it (in my case, I had a screenshot of an error message open since I was testing something at work when the other programmer saw it), laugh as they try to click the "window".
The Person said:Hmm... maybe I should write a program that writes out an error message with an OK button. When you press "OK", the same error box opens again, so you have to close it via Ctrl-Alt-Del.
Or you could just be lazy and use VB.homeyg said:That would be the easiest thing in the world to do (once I learn the Windows API).![]()
