SheepNES: Aegean Sea.

Oglicarchy is cool, and as for the money send your address to my email if I dont complete the fifth update and I will send you the money to that address within 60 working days :P Inside will be a small plastic blue banknote with Banjo Paterson on one side and Mary Gilmore on the other.

Dude. Could you actually post a map with the names on it? I've been working with this huge atlas I've got, and I don't even get all of them places matching. Also I noticed some of the places the map and the atlas was incoherent, but I guess that's part of your adjustments to make the NES run smoother. I'd like to join, could you post that map please?

Also, you might want to look the file where I wrote the names on the map. Just tiny stickers with the first three letters. I've not finished the North-Eastern corner, though. Where can I post it?

I am working on the map as we speak but I have no good way to place names upon a map.

I need those stats so we can get this show on the road. Start sending them in. Remember 20 credits each unless you one of the main powers I listed before.

@Sheep
I made up a list with some units you might want to add or use to replace not so accurate or vague units you or use them for the in the tech tree.

Close Combat:

Peasants: Often pressed into service in desperate times peasants are armed and armored with whatever they own. (500 men a credit)

Peltasts: These light infantrymen are armed with Javelins, short swords, small shields and wear no armor; they can move very quickly but are vulnerable to missile fire. (200 men a credit)

Hoplites: These heavy infantrymen are armed with long spears, short swords, medium shields and are heavily armored; they are slow but can endure more missile fire. (100 men a credit)

Ranged Combat:

Slingers: Armed with slings and daggers Slingers wear no armor at all, they can fire faster than archers but they also require more room to operate. (250 Men a credit)

Archers: Armed with bows and daggers Archers wear no armor at all. They can shoot fire arrows to burn down machines are often used to defend fortresses. (150 men a credit)

Mounted:

Light Cavalry: Armed with Spears and Short swords light cavalry wear very little armor, they can move very quickly and are usually used to cut down lightly armored and retreating troops (100 men a credit)

Heavy Cavalry: Armed with Spears and Maces heavy cavalry are heavily armored; they are considerably slowed down by their heavy armors. (50 men a credit)

Horse Archers: Light and Agile horse archers are used to harass the enemy forces, they are the perfect skirmishers. (75 men a credit)

Machines:

Battering Rams: essentially a very large log on wheels the battering rams are designed to break open fortified gates and doors. They (usually) have roofs to protect their crews from most missile fire. (10 a credit)

Onagers: these ponderous machines are used to hurl various objects, such as rocks and carcasses, against enemy fortresses or formations. They have a slow rate of fire and are inaccurate. (5 a credit)

Ballista: these marvel of ancient engineering are used to hurl large missiles against enemy forces and light fortifications, they are fairly accurate and have a fast rate of fire. (5 a credit)

War Chariots: Carrying 2 Hoplites and a Driver these formidable machines are capable to break the most resilient enemy lines, however they are not so maneuverable and cannot be operated on rough terrains. (25 a credit)

Light Chariot: Carrying 2 Armored Archers and a Driver these Chariots provide a stable and well armored firing platform; they have difficulties operating in rough terrains. (50 a credit)

I wonder, if anybody critisizes this, will Sheep do like he usually does, and flip out, get all mad and huffy, and clise the NES . . .

Rhodian Slingers
Rhodian Slingers are highly skilled missile troops but are at a huge disadvantage in hand-to-hand combat, especially against cavalry. These slingers can send a hail of bullets towards the enemy, and target their shots for maximum damage, they can maintain a sustained and concentrated barrage on enemies and then fall back rapidly to avoid hand-to-hand combat. Rhodian Slingers carry a shoulder bag with many pieces of lead shot (they can also use stones picked up on the battlefield) and several spare slings including slings of different length for greater or lesser range and stave slings for maximum power. They also carry a knife and a small shield but no other equipment. A sling is a deceptively simple weapon: a slinger can bring down the strongest man with a single shot. Used to kill enemies from a distance, they are superb missile warriors. After all, they will have been hunting with slings since boyhood.

Great Wonder Project: The Colossuses of Rhodes
On the tiny island of Rhodes there were three of these city-states: Ialysos, Kamiros, and Lindos. The cities came together in to create one territory that had a unified capital that was named Rhodes. In honor of this even the newly founded Hellenic Republic of Rhodes decided to start building 2 huge statues of the patron gods of the Island, Helios and his wife Rhode.
These two huge statues will come to lay down at the gates of the harbor of Rhodes, the statues will be looking each other’s in the eyes, one of their arms will look like they caress each other’s cheek while the other will rest on their own tights, it will be possible to tense 2 huge chains from this second hand to the other’s statue second hand effectively denyng acess to the harbor in times of need. The Statues legs will run for a portion of the harbor’s breakwater.
These statue’s will symbolize the Love the peoples of Rhodes have for each other, their patron gods and their Principal Goddess Aphrodite.

(picture yourself Cophenghagen’s Mermaid statue with a male counterpart next to it caressing each other cheek and when needed with 2 chains running from the one to the other)

UU: Chiosian Floating Fortress: A large shorebound ship. Functions as an archer platform at sea. Basically, it's a ship with a box on the deck with platforms streching along the inner walls. It may also room infantry for boarding enemy ships or landing on the shore. It's main strength is the superiority in ranged combat as the "fort" gives higher elevation and thus greater defence and hit rate. :D It's weakness is its bulkiness and incapability to weather rough seas.
