Yeah, my other 3 (outside of the first 2 that popped all the ruins) have not even left home territory, because they have been defending against barbs! I should have built warriors instead to defend, but the pathfinder's extra movement won out, and of course I didn't think about not being able to upgrade them until it was too late LoL

You can upgrade them, though, can't you? They're supposed to upgrade to Composite Bowman.

haven't tried them yet, not an american and 25 dollars is big money here in indonesia, so maybe won't try them soon, but, can't you beeline construction with those free tech huts so you'll get earlier scombows? Wow that is quite OP in theory.

Here is an equation I discovered last night:

(Pathfinder upgraded to comp. bow) + (altitude training from Mt. Kilimanjaro) = (awesome)^2

Also, it seems that since gold is really damned scarce in the early game. So feel free to wage wholesale slaughter on barb camps and bully city-states with your Bowfinders.
